Alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) is a major global health concern, contributing to liver injury, morbidity, and mortality. Elafibranor (EFN), a dual peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α/δ agonist, has shown promise as a therapeutic candidate in preclinical studies. EFN reduces liver fibrosis by inhibiting lipid accumulation, apoptosis, and inflammatory pathways (LPS/TLR4/NF-κB), while enhancing autophagy and antioxidant responses.

Background: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a key role in regulating gene expression in Crohn's disease (CD). Although several studies have identified miRNAs with biomarker potential, an exhaustive characterization of the miRNAome in CD is still lacking. We performed the largest miRNA profiling effort to date to analyze miRNA variability across intestinal tissues, disease activity status, and infliximab treatment in CD.

Background: Colonic motility dysfunction is a common symptom of ulcerative colitis (UC), significantly affecting patients' quality of life. Evidence suggests that glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) plays a role in restoring colonic function.
Aim: To investigate whether GDNF enhances aberrant colonic motility in mice with experimental colitis connexin 43 (Cx43).

Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the colon. The most common psychological issue in UC patients is varying degrees of depression, which affects the condition and quality of life of UC patients and may lead to deterioration of the patient's condition. UC drugs combined with antianxiety and antidepression drugs can alleviate symptoms of both depression and UC.

Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a catastrophic inflammatory bowel necrosis of premature infants. The etiology is unknown, but 25-40 % of cases have a history of red blood cell (RBC) transfusions in the preceding 48 h. This association has been noted in retrospective case/case-control studies, and many meta-analyses, and in a murine model.
