The Aurivillius phase layered perovskite ferroelectric material SrBiTiO (SBTO) exhibits spontaneous polarization and piezoelectric properties, which confer significant potential for piezo-photocatalysis. Its ability to enhance electron-hole separation while providing excellent fatigue resistance positions it as a promising candidate in this field. Defects were introduced to improve the structural polarization and photoelectrochemical properties of SBTO.

Direct multiple monochromatic x-ray imaging with a pinhole array and a laterally graded multilayer mirror.

Rev Sci Instrum

June 2024

MOE Key Laboratory of Advanced Micro-Structured Materials, No. 1239 Siping Road, 200092 Shanghai, China.

Multiple monochromatic x-ray imaging (MMI) is a technique for diagnosing the emission spectra of tracer elements in laser-driven inertial confinement fusion experiments. This study proposes an MMI method that combines a simple pinhole array with a laterally graded multilayer mirror. The method directly obtains multiple monochromatic x-ray images by regulating the multilayer thickness in different mirror positions to compensate for the energy-broadening effect.

Age-related differences in auditory spatial processing revealed by acoustic change complex.

Front Hum Neurosci

April 2024

Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing, China.

Objectives: The auditory spatial processing abilities mature throughout childhood and degenerate in older adults. This study aimed to compare the differences in onset cortical auditory evoked potentials (CAEPs) and location-evoked acoustic change complex (ACC) responses among children, adults, and the elderly and to investigate the impact of aging and development on ACC responses.

Design: One hundred and seventeen people were recruited in the study, including 57 typically-developed children, 30 adults, and 30 elderlies.

Fabrication and characterization of smart titanium alloy bolt based on high-frequency piezoelectric thin-film.

Rev Sci Instrum

March 2024

Sichuan Gaolu Traffic Information Engineering Co., Ltd., Chengdu 610095, China.

We reported here on the fabrication and characterization of a smart titanium alloy bolt based on a high-frequency piezoelectric thin-film sensor. The thin-film sensor was directly deposited on a titanium alloy bolt head with radio frequency magnetron sputtering and characterized by a scanning electron microscope and an atomic force microscope. The ultrasonic characteristics of the smart bolt, which include a pure and broad frequency spectrum peaked at 14.

Measurement of tritium surface contamination is important for tritium related facilities, especially for fusion devices. A novel detector has been designed for tritium surface contamination measurements based on CaF(Eu) sheet and Microchannel plate photomultiplier tube (MCP-PMT). Self-coincidence technology has been introduced to obtain lower detection limit by diminishing the background noise caused by γ-rays and hot electrons.
