Background: Staples closure technology has been widely used in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and achieved good results. In recent years, a new type of material called skin closure tape (SCT) has been applied to TKA which also showed good treatment results. However, since it is still not clear yet which one is better, this paper collects literatures for statistical analysis so as to provide evidence for the use of SCT in TKA.
Methods: The comparative study on effects between SCT and staples is reviewed after the primary release of TKA in PubMed, the Cochrane library, and the EMBASE database up to March 2019. The two researchers independently screened the literature and evaluated the quality of the literature using bias risk tools.
Results: A total of four studies (3330 knees) have been included in our meta-analysis. For the main point, the results show that the SCT can reduce readmission rates compared to staples (RR 0.68, 95% CI 0.49-0.95, =0.03), with no significant difference in complications (RR 0.85, 95% CI 0.27-2.64, =0.77). Secondly, the results suggest that although there is no significant difference in removal time between the two groups, the SCT can reduce pains, save time and costs, and have a better cosmetic effect.
Conclusions: Our study indicates SCT as a closure method with fewer complications and faster speed compared with staples. Nevertheless, the cost and pain need to be further confirmed because of the small sample size included in this study.

Objective: The aim of this study was to systematically review the preclinical studies that have applied the static magnetic field to wound healing.
Methods: The search strategy was performed in databases: PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, LILACS, CINAHL and Cochrane Database, and in gray literature. The inclusion criteria were: Pre-clinical studies, either with a separate control/sham parallel-group or cross-over design in rodents that used magnets to treat skin injuries anywhere on the body.

Purpose: To review the long history of wound management, including the methods of skin closure, asepsis, and anesthesia. Periocular techniques will be emphasized.
Methods: Literature searches and cross-referencing were used to identify historic reports addressing the management of wounds.

Background And Aims: Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) has been applied in various laparoscopic procedures. Intravenous lidocaine (IVL) infusion is used for laparoscopic procedures as a part of ERAS protocols. The study aimed to evaluate the role of IVL infusion in enhanced bowel recovery after laparoscopic renal surgeries.

Managing wounds and accompanying consequences like exudation and microbiological infections is challenging in clinical practice. Bioactive compounds from traditional medicinal plants help heal wounds, although their bioavailability is low. This study uses sodium alginate (SA), gelatin (G), and Santalum album oil (SAL) to 3D print a polymeric hydrogel scaffold to circumvent these difficulties.

BACKGROUND Perineal injuries affecting the scrotum and penis are rare in pediatric patients, owing to the protective anatomy of the male genitalia. However, when such injuries do occur, timely surgical intervention is crucial. This kind of damage might not be life-threatening but could cause functional disorders and have a huge impact on the patients' psychological condition if not treated appropriately, especially as they enter puberty.
