This study describes a kinetic spectrophotometric method for accurate, sensitive and rapid determination of cisplatin in biofluids. The developed method is based on the inhibitory effect of cisplatin on the oxidization of Janus Green by bromate in acidic media. The change in absorbance as the criteria of the oxidation reaction was followed spectrophotometrically. To obtain the highest rate of sensitivity, efficient reaction parameters were optimized. Under optimum experimental conditions, a calibration graph was obtained linearly over the range 10.0 - 5750.0 μg L and the limit of detection (3s/m) was 4.2 μg L of cisplatin. The interfering effect of diverse species was investigated. The developed method was used for the quantification of cisplatin in bio fluids of patients treated with cisplatin, spiked bio fluids and pharmaceutical samples and yielded satisfactory results.

Distinct molecular subtypes of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) may show different platinum sensitivities. Currently available data were mostly generated at transcriptome level and have limited comparability to each other. We aimed to determine the platinum sensitivity of molecular subtypes by using the protein expression-based Lund Taxonomy.

Intrathecal pemetrexed in NSCLC patients with leptomeningeal metastasis.

Department of Medical Oncology, Tata Memorial Hospital, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai 400012, India.

Spread of lung cancer to the leptomeninges is rare and difficult to treat. Standard therapy comprises CNS-penetrant targeted agents with or without intrathecal chemotherapy. We performed a retrospective analysis of 16 patients with advanced NSCLC and leptomeningeal disease treated with intrathecal pemetrexed 50 mg.

Background: Chemoresistance is a major cause of treatment failure in advanced colorectal cancer (CRC), severely impacting patient survival and quality of life. While conventional chemotherapy regimens can somewhat control tumor progression, their effectiveness is frequently compromised by the development of drug resistance in cancer cells. The aim of this study is to verify and elucidate the specific mechanisms by which leptin enhances chemosensitivity in CRC, providing valuable insights for the development of new combination chemotherapy options.

Bevacizumab is widely used in various clinical indications, but investigations into its optimal dosage for treating CNS metastases remain limited. The BEEP regimen, comprising bevacizumab, etoposide, and cisplatin, has recently demonstrated promising clinical outcomes for patients with breast cancer brain metastasis (BCBM) or leptomeningeal metastasis (LM). This study aimed to evaluate the exposure-response relationship of bevacizumab in BCBM patients and to explore the improved CNS penetration of chemotherapy by bevacizumab with LM patients.

Background: Advanced gastric cancer (GC) exhibits a high recurrence rate and a dismal prognosis. Myocyte enhancer factor 2c (MEF2C) was found to contribute to the development of various types of cancer. Therefore, our aim is to develop a prognostic model that predicts the prognosis of GC patients and initially explore the role of MEF2C in immunotherapy for GC.
