Glycyrrhetinic acid monoglucuronide (GAMG) is an innovative functional sweetener with higher sweetness and stronger pharmacological activity than glycyrrhizin (GL). A novel β-glucuronidase (cg-GUS) was firstly screened from plant endophytic fungus Chaetomium globosum DX-THS3. The cg-GUS demonstrated the specify and highly transform glycyrrhizin (GL) to generate GAMG, and the maximum activity of β-glucuronidase at 45 °C and pH 6.0, displaying excellent thermostability and pH-stability. The K and V values of cg-GUS were 0.134 mM and 236.42 mM/min/mg, respectively, which showed the high chemical bond selectivity and biotransformation efficiency of cg-GUS. Meanwhile, the cg-GUS gene (1896 bp) was analyzed, and Gly-345, Ser-539, Gly-563, Ala-579, Ser-581 and Glu-619 in GH2 catalytic domain of cg-GUS are potential mutation position for result in high-efficient and substrate-specify of cg-GUS. Our results were indicated that cg-GUS is a biocatalyst for production of GAMG and potent application in food and medicinal industry.

Background: IgA nephropathy (IgAN) presents a challenging spectrum of outcomes, often complicated by intrarenal arterial/arteriolar lesions (IALs) in affected individuals. Despite their clinical relevance, existing criteria for classifying and assessing the severity of these lesions remain undefined. This study aimed to establish semi-quantitative assessment criteria for grading IALs and to evaluate their prognostic significance in patients with IgAN.

Joubert syndrome (JS) is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder associated with mutations in genes involved in ciliary function. Germline variants in CPLANE1 have been implicated in JS. In this study, we investigated a family with three adverse pregnancies characterised by fetal malformations consistent with JS.

Mefentrifluconazole was the first novel isopropyl alcohol triazole fungicide. Existing research indicated that mefentrifluconazole had high activity and low toxicity, presenting potential for monocase application, while limited data existed on its enantioselective dissipation in crops. Here, after confirming the absolute configuration, the enantioselective dissipation and risk assessments of chiral mefentrifluconazole in soybeans, peanuts, tomatoes, grapes, and soil were conducted.

Identifying atomic-level mechanisms in elemental chemical reactions is crucial for understanding complex reaction processes. This study focuses on the typical multichannel H + NHCl reaction, which plays a significant role in environmental science. High-level ab initio calculations determined seven distinct reaction pathways, leading to three product channels: H + NHCl, HCl + NH, and Cl + NH.

In this study, the role of phosphorylation in the liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) of tau, the underlying driving forces, and the potential implications of this separation on protein conformation and subsequent protein aggregation were investigated. We compared in vivo-produced phosphorylated tau (p-tau) and nonphosphorylated tau under different coacervation conditions without adding crowding agents. Our findings revealed that spontaneous phase separation occurs exclusively in p-tau, triggered by a temperature shift from 4 °C to room temperature, and is driven by electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions.
