Colorectal cancer is the third common cancer in this world, accounting for more than 1 million cases each year. However, detailed etiology and mechanism of colorectal cancer have not been fully understood. For example, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and its product prostaglandin E (PGE) have been closely linked to its occurrence, progression and prognosis. However, the mechanisms on how COX-2 and PGE-mediate the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer are obscure. In this review, we have summarized recent advances in studies of pathogenesis and control in colorectal cancer to assist further advances in the research for the cure of the cancer. In addition, the knowledge gained may also guide the audiences for reduction of the risk and control of this deadly disease.

The Model for Understanding Success in Quality (MUSIQ) is a framework designed to understand the contextual factors that can influence healthcare quality improvement (QI) initiative implementation. The MUSIQ calculator was originally developed to help clinics identify contextual factors that may affect QI success. This retrospective study adapted the MUSIQ calculator to serve as an evaluative tool for practice facilitators engaged in a colorectal cancer screening initiative.

Background: Diet is a modifiable risk factor for non-communicable diseases which are the major causes of death worldwide. French dietary guidelines, updated in 2017, provide recommendations for a healthier diet. We aimed to study the association between adherence to these dietary guidelines and mortality in the E3N (Etude Epidémiologique auprès de femmes de l'Education Nationale) French cohort.

Background: Schisandrin B (Sch B) is an active component in Schisandra chinensis exerting anti-cancer effect, but the mechanism is obscure. This study was designed to explore the mechanism of Sch B against colorectal cancer (CRC).
Method: Apparent experiments including cell proliferation, transwell, colony formation, etc.

Background: This study aimed to identify molecular markers that influence liver metastasis in colorectal cancer (CRC) and assess their clinical relevance.
Methods: Proteomic analysis compared differential protein expression between CRC patients with liver metastasis (CRLM) and those without (CRNLM). Bioinformatics and survival analyses identified key proteins and validated them using the TCGA database for expression and clinical significance.
