We report ultrafast-laser-induced photochemical, structural, and morphological changes in a polyimide film irradiated at the polymer-glass interface in back-incident geometry. Back-illumination creates locally hot material at the interface leading to a confined photochemical change at the interface and a morphological change through a blister formation. The laser-induced photochemical changes in polyimide resulted in new absorption and luminescence properties in the visible region. The laser-treated polyimide exhibited photoluminescence anisotropy resulting from formation of ordered polymer upon irradiation by linearly polarized ultrashort laser pulses. Confocal fluorescence microscopy resulted in similar observations to the bulk. Reflection-absorption infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy together indicated confinement of laser-induced chemical changes at the interface.

Objective(s): Some forms of breast cancer such as triple-negative phenotype, are serious challenge because of high metastatic cases, high mortality and resistance to conventional therapy motivated the search for alternative treatment approaches. Nanomaterials are promising candidates and suitable alternatives for improving tumor and cancer cell treatments.
Materials And Methods: Biosynthesis of ZnO NPs by help of Berberis integerrima fruit extract, has been done.

Pulsed dipolar electron paramagnetic resonance (PD-EPR) measurement is a powerful technique for characterizing the interactions and conformational changes of biomolecules. The extraction of these distance restraints from PD-EPR experiments relies on manipulation of spin-spin pairs. The orthogonal spin labeling approach offers unique advantages by providing multiple distances between different spin-spin pairs.

The current study investigates and compares the biological effects of ultrathin conformal coatings of zirconium dioxide (ZrO) and vanadium pentoxide (VO) on osteoblastic MG-63 cells grown on TiO nanotube layers (TNTs). Coatings were achieved by the atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique. TNTs with average tube diameters of 15, 30, and 100 nm were fabricated on Ti substrates (via electrochemical anodization) and were used as primary substrates for the study.

Facemask materials have been under constant development to optimize filtration performance, wear comfort, and general resilience to chemical and mechanical stress. While single-use polypropylene meltblown membranes are the established go-to material for high-performing mask filters, they are neither sustainable nor particularly resistant to sterilization methods. Herein an in-depth analysis is provided of the sterilization efficiency, filtration efficiency, and breathing resistance of selected aerosol filters commonly implemented in facemasks, with a particular focus on the benefits of nanofibrous filters.

Increased telomerase activity has been considered as a conspicuous sign of human cancers. The catalytic cores of telomerase involve a reverse transcriptase and the human telomerase RNA (hTR). However, current detection of telomerase is largely limited to its activity at the tissue and single-cell levels.
