A photochromic dysprosium-based single-molecule magnet [Dy(CyPhPO)(HO)](PMoO) ⋅ 3CyPhPO⋅HO (1-Dy) is synthesized via cocrystal engineering of a polyoxomolybdate (POMo) anion and an Ising-type cation with pseudo pentagonal bipyramidal geometry. Upon ultraviolet irradiation, Mo-to-Mo single-electron photoreduction occurs in the POMo moiety, resulting in significant changes of optical and magnetic properties. The emergence of intervalence charge-transfer transitions in heteropoly blue state 1-Dy* facilitates photothermal conversion in near-infrared region.

Background: Multidisciplinary cardiogenic shock (CS) programs have been associated with improved outcomes, yet practical guidance for developing a CS program is lacking.
Methods: A survey on CS program development and operational best practices was administered to 12 institutions in diverse sociogeographic regions and practice settings. Common steps in program development were identified.

Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CAR-T) has transformed the treatment paradigm of relapsed/refractory B-cell malignancies. Yet, this therapy is not without toxicities. While the early inflammation-mediated toxicities are now better understood, delayed hematopoietic recovery and infections result in morbidity and mortality risks that persist for months following CAR-T.

The northern white rhinoceros (NWR) is functionally extinct, with only two nonreproductive females remaining. However, because of the foresight of scientists, cryopreserved cells and reproductive tissues may aid in the recovery of this species. An ambitious program of natural and artificial gamete and in vitro embryo generation was first outlined in 2015, and many of the proposed steps have been achieved.
