Electron antineutrino appearance is measured by the T2K experiment in an accelerator-produced antineutrino beam, using additional neutrino beam operation to constrain parameters of the Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata (PMNS) mixing matrix. T2K observes 15 candidate electron antineutrino events with a background expectation of 9.3 events. Including information from the kinematic distribution of observed events, the hypothesis of no electron antineutrino appearance is disfavored with a significance of 2.40σ and no discrepancy between data and PMNS predictions is found. A complementary analysis that introduces an additional free parameter which allows non-PMNS values of electron neutrino and antineutrino appearance also finds no discrepancy between data and PMNS predictions.

Article Synopsis
  • - The Daya Bay experiment has successfully measured the oscillation amplitude and frequency of reactor antineutrinos over nearly 2,000 days of data, finding significant results about their behavior.
  • - They observed over 3.6 million signal candidates using improved selection and calibration methods, leading to a measurement of sin²2θ₁₃ = 0.0759 with a precision that indicates how antineutrinos change states.
  • - Combining results from different detection methods at Daya Bay, the overall measurement of sin²2θ₁₃ increased precision to 0.0833±0.0022, representing an 8% improvement in understanding these neutrino properties.

On the basis of revisions of some of the systematic errors, we reanalyzed the electron-antineutrino angular correlation (a coefficient) in free neutron decay inferred from the recoil energy spectrum of the protons which are detected in 4π by the aSPECT spectrometer. With a=-0.104 02(82) the new value differs only marginally from the one published in 2020.

The future Ricochet experiment aims to search for new physics in the electroweak sector by measuring the Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering process from reactor antineutrinos with high precision down to the sub-100 eV nuclear recoil energy range. While the Ricochet collaboration is currently building the experimental setup at the reactor site, it is also finalizing the cryogenic detector arrays that will be integrated into the cryostat at the Institut Laue Langevin in early 2024. In this paper, we report on recent progress from the Ge cryogenic detector technology, called the CryoCube.

Article Synopsis
  • High-energy particle scattering experiments have been used to probe the structure of nucleons, revealing the size of protons and measuring electric charge distributions through vector form factors.
  • Neutrinos offer a unique way to measure both vector and axial vector form factors of nucleons, providing complementary insights into nucleon structure compared to other methods.
  • The latest findings from the MINERvA experiment present the first direct measurement of the nucleon axial charge radius using antineutrino-hydrogen scattering, which avoids complex nuclear corrections and improves our understanding of nucleon interactions relevant to neutrino oscillation studies.

We investigate the possible origins of the reactor antineutrino anomalies in norm and shape within the framework of a summation model where β^{-} transitions are simulated by a phenomenological model of Gamow-Teller decay strength. The general trends of divergence from the Huber-Mueller model on the antineutrino side can be reproduced in both norm and shape. From the exact electron-antineutrino correspondence of the summation model, we predict similar distortions in the electron spectra, suggesting that biases on the reference spectra of fission electrons could be the cause of the anomalies.
