Background: AD prevention and early detection are crucial to reduce prevalence projections in Latinos. Despite these projections, our community partners in Los Angeles County continue to disclose barriers in accessing culturally and linguistically congruent bilingual programs activating behavioral modifications for AD prevention and early identification of cognitive changes. In this study, we partnered with community organizations to co-design and pilot a brain health prevention program tailored to the needs of their constituents.

Cardiac-Urogenital Syndrome (CUGS) is a recently identified genetic disease characterized by urogenital, diaphragmatic, ophthalmic, and cardiac abnormalities caused by heterozygous pathogenic variants in the Myelin Regulatory Factor (MYRF) gene. The complete spectrum of disease characteristics and prevalence is not yet defined. This report documents the first known cases of anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) in MYRF-associated Cardiac-Urogenital Syndrome (MYRF-CUGS).

Introduction: Healthcare payers in the USA increasingly cover genetic testing, including exome sequencing (ES), for pediatric indications. Analysis of claims data enables understanding of utilization and costs in real-world settings. The objective of this study was to describe genetic test utilization, diagnostic outcomes, and costs for children who received ES as well as for those who received less comprehensive forms of genetic testing, along with their families.

A study is presented of a method for creating an acoustic flow sensor that is generally compatible with current silicon microfabrication processes. An aim of this effort is to obtain a design consisting of a minimal departure from the existing designs employed in mass-produced silicon microphones. Because the primary component in all of these microphones is the cavity behind the pressure-sensing diaphragm, we begin with a study of the acoustic particle velocity within a cavity in a planar surface.

SPDC photon-pairs exhibit spatial correlations which can be measured using detector arrays sensitive to single photons. However, these detector arrays have multiple readout modes and in order to optimise detection it is important to select the optimum mode to detect the correlations against a background of optical and electronic noise. These quantum correlations enable applications in imaging, sensing, communication, and optical processing.
