The global experiences with the HIV/AIDS and COVID-19 pandemics hold important lessons for preparing for, and responding to, future outbreaks of emerging or re-emerging infectious diseases. Scores of infectious diseases have emerged or re-emerged over the past four decades, and future outbreaks are inevitable. The next emerging pathogen likely will again come from unanticipated sources and pose puzzles in terms of microbiology, transmission, natural history, pathogenesis, epidemiology, and will present challenges to developing countermeasures such as diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines.

Background: Well-designed escape room games engage students with complex problems and challenge clinical and teamwork skills, but their impact on learning has been uncertain. This study aimed to estimate the effect size of escape room game on performance in a broad knowledge test.
Methods: During clinical rotation in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI), medical students participated in a 3-hour small-group class.

Enormous progress has been made in the last 20 years since the publication of our review [1] in this journal on transport and traffic phenomena in biology. In this brief article we present a glimpse of the major advances during this period. First, we present similarities and differences between collective intracellular transport of a single micron-size cargo by multiple molecular motors and that of a cargo particle by a team of ants on the basis of the common principle of load-sharing.

In recent years, face recognition technology has made significant progress in the field of real visual images, yet face recognition involving caricature-visual images remains a challenge due to the exaggerated and unrealistic features of caricature faces. To tackle this issue, this paper introduces the Caricature-visual Face Recognition Model Based on Jigsaw Solving and Modal Decoupling (CVF-JSM). The CVF-JSM consists of two modules: feature extraction and decoupling.

Objectives: Parent-child interaction plays a crucial role in child development. This study investigated associations between the frequency of parent-child-interactions and sociodemographic characteristics (age, sex, socio-economic status, family structure, number and age of siblings), physical and psychological symptoms in children, and mental health of parents.
Methods: The frequencies of 11 different parent-child interactions (shared reading, singing, moving, painting, building, puzzle, playing ball, role games, language games, number games and talking about problems) were assessed in 739 children aged 2-6.
