An ultrasound transducer was fabricated by dropping a multi-walled carbon nanotube solution containing a mixture of carbon nanotubes and ethoxyethanol directly on the surface of polyethylene microspheres. The frequency modulation depended on the diameter of the polyethylene microspheres. To investigate this relationship, three types of polyethylene microspheres with different diameters were used in simulations and experiments. These specimens were attached to polydimethylsiloxane and glass plates. A comparison revealed that the 50 μm diameter polyethylene spheres coated with carbon nanotubes had the highest ultrasound frequency. This work showed that smaller polyethylene microspheres generate higher ultrasound frequencies.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a solid self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS) and surface-coated microspheres to improve the oral bioavailability of niclosamide.
Methods: A solubility screening study showed that liquid SNEDDS, prepared using an optimized volume ratio of corn oil, Cremophor RH40, and Tween 80 (20:24:56), formed nanoemulsions with the smallest droplet size. Niclosamide was incorporated into this liquid SNEDDS and spray-dried with calcium silicate to produce solid SNEDDS.

The detection and analysis of cancer cell exosomes with high sensitivity and precision are pivotal for the early diagnosis and treatment strategies of prostate cancer. To this end, a microfluidic chip, equipped with a cactus-like array substrate (CAS) based on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) was designed and fabricated for the detection of exosome concentrations in Lymph Node Carcinoma of the Prostate (LNCaP). Double layers of polystyrene (PS) microspheres were self-assembled onto a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film to form an ordered cactus-like nanoarray for detection and analysis.

Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is widely used clinically as a tissue filler owing to its good biocompatibility and ability to improve wrinkles and signs of aging.
