Protein arginine methyltransferase 1 (PRMT1) is the most predominant PRMT and is type I, meaning it generates monomethylarginine and asymmetric dimethylarginine. PRMT1 has functions in oxidative stress, inflammation and cancers, and modulates diverse diseases; consequently, numerous trials to develop PRMT1 inhibitors have been attempted. One selective PRMT1 inhibitor is -(Sulfonyldi-4,1-phenylene)bis(2-chloroacetamide), also named TC-E 5003 (TC-E). In this study, we investigated whether TC-E regulated inflammatory responses. Nitric oxide (NO) production was evaluated by the Griess assay and the inflammatory gene expression was determined by conducting RT-PCR. Western blot analyzing was carried out for inflammatory signaling exploration. TC-E dramatically reduced lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced NO production and the expression of inflammatory genes (inducible NO synthase (iNOS), cyclooxygenase (COX)-2, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-6) as determined using RT-PCR. TC-E downregulated the nuclear translocation of the nuclear factor (NF)-κB subunits p65 and p50 and the activator protein (AP)-1 transcriptional factor c-Jun. Additionally, TC-E directly regulated c-Jun gene expression following LPS treatment. In NF-κB signaling, the activation of IκBα and Src was attenuated by TC-E. Taken together, these data show that TC-E modulates the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced AP-1 and NF-κB signaling pathways and could possibly be further developed as an anti-inflammatory compound.

Thermal management plays a vital role in technology (electronic and electrical equipment) and life (high-temperature injury). Therefore, thermal regulation has attracted worldwide attention. This review addresses the applications of electrospinning (e-spinning) in the thermal management of polymer matrix composites, mainly involving enhanced thermal conductivity (TC), thermal insulation, and passive daytime radiative cooling (PDRC).

Study Design: Prospective multicenter cohort study.
Objective: The aim of this study was to validate an alarm point of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring () formulated by the Monitoring Working Group (WG) of the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery and Related Research (JSSR).
Summary Of Background Data: The Monitoring WG of the JSSR formulated an alarm point of IONM using transcranial electrical stimulation-muscle motor evoked potentials (Tc(E)-MEPs) and has conducted a prospective multicenter study.

Animal waste contains high numbers of microorganisms and therefore can present a potential biological threat to human health. During episodic rainfall events resulting in runoff, microorganisms in the waste and soil may migrate into surface runoff, contaminating surface water resources. A probabilistic human exposure (HE) model was created to determine exposure to faecal indicator bacteria (FIB): total coliforms (TC), E.

Study Design: A prospective multicenter observational study.
Objective: To elucidate the efficacy of transcranial motor-evoked potentials (Tc(E)-MEPs) in degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) surgery by comparing cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) to cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) and investigate the timing of Tc(E)-MEPs alerts and types of interventions affecting surgical outcomes.
Summary Of Background Data: Although CSM and OPLL are the most commonly encountered diseases of DCM, the benefits of Tc(E)-MEPs for DCM remain unclear and comparisons of these two diseases have not yet been conducted.

Histone demethylase KDM7A regulates many biological processes, including differentiation, development, and the growth of several cancer cells. Here, we have focused on the role of KDM7A in bladder cancer cells, especially under drug-resistant conditions. When the gene was knocked down, bladder cancer cell lines showed impaired cell growth, increased cell death, and reduced rates of cell migration.
