Seed-borne fungus was examined in this study to investigate its capability of synthesizing silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs). experiments were conducted using corn-grain contaminating fungal isolate. Ag-NPs detection and characterization were assayed by the aid of spectroscopic techniques. Spectroscopy (energy dispersive), X-ray diffraction, transmission electron-microscope and optical absorption dimensions were employed. Ag-NPs with biosynthesized were used to test invitro against Bipolaris ; the cause of target leaf spot disease on sorghum plants. The myco-synthesis of Ag NPs using was proved in this study. Moreover, was successfully inhibited by such Ag NPs .

Photothermal superhydrophobic treatment is an effective anti-icing and de-icing method, avoiding damage to equipment caused by ice accumulation in winter. However, the traditional photothermal materials were expensive and the photothermal conversion coatings are hard to remove when unnecessary. Herein, three biochar microspheres with solid, hollow, and flower-like structures (SBMs, HBMs, FBMs) were fabricated to construct photothermal superhydrophobic coatings on the polyester fabric (PET), respectively.

Background: Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) identified ApoE4 and Trem2*R47H as two of the strongest genetic risk factors for late-onset Alzheimer's Disease (LOAD). As part of our efforts to develop mouse models that better recapitulate LOAD, at Model Organism Development & Evaluation for Late-Onset Alzheimer's Disease (MODEL-AD) consortium at University of California - Irvine, we have created a triple homozygous mouse model that combines our previously developed hAb-KI mice (Jackson Lab #031050), Trem2 (Jackson Lab #034036) and a humanized ApoE4 (Jackson Lab #027894), to evaluate the interactions between aging, hAPOE4, TREM2*R47H, and hAb.

Method: By breeding the hAb-KI, hApoE4 and Trem2, we obtained triple homozygous (HO) mice and we then generated four different groups: WT (C57BL6/J), hAb-KI HO, hAb-KI HO;hApoE4 HO and hAb-KI HO;hApoE4 HO;Trem2 HO.

Background: The impact of knowledge of β-amyloid status on cognitively unimpaired persons' cognitive test performance is unknown.

Method: Cognitively unimpaired adults aged 65-80 with a first-degree relative with AD received a dementia risk estimate and were randomly assigned to disclosure (D+) or non-disclosure (D-) of their β-amyloid PET scan result. At 6 weeks and 6 months post-disclosure, participants completed the ADCS-PACC, a composite of Free and Cued Selective Reminding (free portion), Logical Memory IIa test, Digit-Symbol Substitution, and MMSE.
