Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) is in many ways the ultimate kinematic operation, as the express aim is to resurface the diseased side of the joint and restore pre-arthritic alignment and balance while maintaining integrity of both cruciate ligaments. An increasing body of knowledge relates the outcomes of UKA to pre-arthritic anatomy rather than an arbitrarily defined neutral. The Coronal Plane Alignment of the Knee (CPAK) classification provides a validated technique for calculating pre-arthritic limb alignment (the arithmetic hip-knee-ankle angle (aHKA)) and joint line obliquity (JLO) and will enable a greater understanding of the interactions between pre-arthritic anatomy, choice of prosthetic position and outcomes.

Objective: The efficacy and safety of propranolol for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) remain under debate. This network meta-analysis (NMA) focuses on whether a ranking may be established for different dose levels of propranolol as treatment of ROP in terms of stage progression as the primary outcome, with appearance of plus disease and need for anti-vascular endothelial growth factors (anti-VEGFs) or laser therapy as secondary endpoints.
Methods: Fourteen studies (10 randomised controlled trials, three single-arm trials and one retrospective observational study) of 474 patients treated with oral or ocular propranolol were retrieved from databases up to April 2024.

Children with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) are at considerable risk for cognitive difficulties, including visuospatial deficits and executive dysfunction. This study aimed to (1) assess the overall performance of children with NF1 on the Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test (RCFT) compared to unaffected siblings and (2) examine neuropsychological predictors of RCFT performance in children with NF1. A retrospective clinical audit was performed on neuropsychological records from a multidisciplinary NF1 Clinic in Australia.

Introduction: Primary cam morphology is highly prevalent in many athlete populations, causing debilitating hip osteoarthritis in some. Existing research is mired in confusion partly because stakeholders have not agreed on key primary cam morphology elements or a prioritised research agenda. We aimed to inform a more rigorous, inclusive and evidence-based approach to research on primary cam morphology and its natural history by working towards agreement on a set of research priorities for conditions affecting the young person's hip.

The volar rim of the distal radius is the only bony restraint to volar carpal subluxation. Higher loads across the volar rim require stable and rigid fixation to maintain reduction and allow healing while rehabilitation begins. Volar marginal fragments are not amenable to buttressing by fixed angle volar locking plates.
