Large-grained and well-oriented methylammonium lead tribromide (MAPbBr) perovskite was formed from the conversion of amorphous lead bromide (PbBr) doped with phenethylamine (PEA). The addition of PEA ions (with an optimized molar ratio of 0.008%) to the PbBr solution assisted the formation of a smooth PEA-doped PbBr layer by spin-coating. Then, the PEA-doped PbBr thin film would convert into large-grained and well-oriented MAPbBr with the help of a solid-vapor reaction under a vaporized methylammonium bromide (MABr) and choline chloride (CC) atmosphere. Furthermore, both PEA and CC would passivate the defects of perovskite to improve the crystal quality of perovskite. By applying this perovskite layer in perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs), the maximum luminance and current efficiency of PeLEDs could reach 20,869 cd/m and 3.99 cd/A, respectively; these values are approximately five and three times larger than those of PeLEDs without PEA. The perovskite converted from spin-coated PbBr with a PEA dopant remarkably improved the luminance and current efficiency of its PeLEDs.

Versatile Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Material Enabling High Efficiencies in both Photodynamic Therapy and Deep-Red/NIR Electroluminescence.

Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials (FUNSOM), Joint International Research Laboratory of Carbon-Based Functional Materials and Devices, Soochow University, Suzhou 215123, Jiangsu, China.

Thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials have received increasing attention from organic electronics to other related fields, such as bioapplications and photocatalysts. However, it remains a challenging task for TADF emitters to showcase the versatility concurrent with high performance in multiple applications. Herein, we first present such a proof-of-concept TADF material, namely, QCN-SAC, through strategically manipulating exciton dynamics.

Background: Previous studies have proven that 308-nm light-emitting diode(308-nm LED)and 308-nm excimer lamp(308-nm MEL) are effective in treating vitiligo, but there is a lack of comparison of their efficacy for facial lesions.

Objective: To evaluate and contrast the treatment success rates of 308-nm LED versus 308-nm excimer lamp in managing facial lesions among patients suffering from stable non-segmental vitiligo.

Methods: The enrolled 119 patients with 145 lesions were randomly assigned to receive 308-nm LED or 308-nm MEL for two months.

Background: Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are being used in controlled environments to enhance crop production and pest management with most studies focusing on continuous treatments (applied throughout the entire daytime or nighttime period). Here, we tested the hypothesis that providing tomato plants with timed LED regimes (daily 3-h doses of red, blue, or far-red LED) during the day or at night may affect their traits (leaf reflectance indices, element composition, and phenolic profile), performance of two-spotted spider mites (Tetranychus urticae) (TSSM), and a species of predatory mite (Phytoseiulus persimilis).

Results: Nighttime LED regimes significantly altered leaf element composition: red LED increased K levels, blue LED enhanced Mg levels, and far-red LED enhanced Mn and Cu and reduced Zn levels.

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) has been attracting much extensive interest owing to their advantages of high-definition and flexible displays. Many advances have been focused on boosting the efficiency and stability. Two innovative dimethylacridine-based emitters,1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4- (2,7-di-tert-butyl-9,9-dimethylacridin-10(9H)-yl)phenyl ethene (AcTPE), and bis(4-(2,7-di-tert-butyl-9,9-dimethylacridin-10(9H)-yl)phenyl)methanone (Ac2BP) were designed and synthesized, in which TPE-baesed AcTPE presents AIE properties, and with the phenyl as spacer between the DMAC and carbony, aryl-ketone-based Ac2BP doesn't show AIE properties due to the absence of restriction of intramolecular rotations.

The integration of flexible electronics and photonics has the potential to create revolutionary technologies, yet it has been challenging to marry electronic and photonic components on a single polymer device, especially through high-volume manufacturing. Here, we present a robust, chiplet-level heterogeneous integration of polymer-based circuits (CHIP), where several post-fabricated, ultrathin, polymer electronic, and optoelectronic chiplets are vertically bonded into one single chip at room temperature and then shaped into application-specific form factors with monolithic Input/Output (I/O). As a demonstration, we applied this process and developed a flexible 3D-integrated optrode with high-density arrays of microelectrodes for electrical recording and micro light-emitting diodes (μLEDs) for optogenetic stimulation while with unprecedented integration of additional temperature sensors for bio-safe operations and shielding designs for optoelectronic artifact prevention.
