Background: Anxiety is a common and invalidating symptom of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB).
Methods: To evaluate the efficacy of pregabalin as a treatment for anxiety in DLB, we screened all medical files of our patients with DLB for the use of pregabalin in this context.
Findings: Overall, pregabalin was well tolerated. Ten (62.5%) of 16 patients showed an improvement of anxiety, whereas in 3 of them, anxiety disappeared completely, at respectively 3, 11, and 22 months of follow-up, with total daily doses ranging from 75 to 150 mg. Positive response to pregabalin was associated with a significant reduction in benzodiazepine use.
Conclusions: Pregabalin seems a useful and safe tool for treating anxiety in patients with DLB.
Objectives: This study evaluated the impact of different doses of gabapentin and pregabalin on fracture healing in a rat femoral shaft model, with histological, radiological, and biomechanical assessments.
Materials And Methods: Seventy male Wistar albino rats were divided into five groups: control, low-dose gabapentin (GBP-L, 300 mg/day), high-dose gabapentin (GBP-H, 3600 mg/day), low-dose pregabalin (PRG-L, 150 mg/day), and high-dose pregabalin (PRG-H, 600 mg/day), based on human equivalent doses. Bilateral femoral fractures were induced; the right femurs were prepared for radiological examination using microtomography, followed by histological analysis, whereas the left femurs were allocated for biomechanical testing.

Background: Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a condition that causes persistent and debilitating pain. It is often associated with physical injury but can also occur without identifiable trauma or ongoing injury. There are no published guidelines for CRPS treatment in the pediatric population, but interdisciplinary care, medication, and physical therapy are common approaches.
