Ti-SBA-15 catalysts doped with cerium ion were synthesized using conventional hydrothermal method and they were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, DRS, BET and PL. We also examined the activity of these materials on the photocatalytic decomposition of orange II. Ti-SBA-15 catalysts doped with cerium ions maintained the mesoporous structure regardless of the doping amount of cerium ion. 5 mole% Ce/Ti-SBA-15 catalysts showed the highest photocatalytic activity on the decomposition of orange II, however, the catalysts doped with less than 3 mole% Ce/Ti-SBA-15 showed lower activity compared to pure Ti-SBA-15 catalyst. The PL peaks appeared at about 410 nm at all catalysts and the excitonic PL signal was proportional to the photocatalytic activity for the decomposition of orange II.

Fe, Ni, and Cu doped ceria nanoparticles (CeNPs) were prepared with a simple and one-pot hydrothermal synthesis method. We investigated the chemiluminescence (CL) interaction between these NPs and rhodamine B (Rh B) and found that the highest CL intensity was related to the Rh B- Cu doped CeNPs. We assigned that to the higher catalytic property of Cu doped NPs compared to the others.

This study focuses on the synthesis of a novel Cerium-Magnesium (CeO-MgO) binary oxide nanomaterials by a simple co-precipitation process and used to remove harmful pollutants such as Cr(VI), Cu(II), and F. The morphology, phase, crystallite size, thermal stability, functional groups, surface area, and porosity of the synthesized nanomaterial were determined by using XRD, SEM, FTIR, TGA/DTA, and BET studies. The prepared nanomaterials showed adsorption selectivity of Cu(II) ≈ F> Cr(VI) with a high adsorption capacity of 84.

Bone defects resulting from trauma or diseases that lead to bone loss have created a growing need for innovative materials suitable for treating bone-related conditions. The purpose of this study is, therefore, to synthesize and analyse the synergistic effects of cerium (Ce) and cerium-silver (Ce-Ag) doping of borosilicate bioactive glass (BBG) on the bioactivity, antibacterial properties, and biocompatibility for potential applications in bone tissue engineering. This study utilized a sol-gel Stöber method to synthesize doped BBGs based on S49B4.

An excess of reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to oxidative stress, is a major factor in aging. Antioxidant therapies are considered crucial for delaying aging. Nanoceria, a nanozyme with antioxidant activity, holds significant potential in protecting cells from oxidative stress-induced damage.
