Three new diterpenoids (a cephalotane, an abietane and a 9(10→20)-abeo-abietane) and one new flavonoid, together with 11 known compounds, were isolated from the twigs of Cephalotaxus fortunei var. alpina. The new compounds were identified by comprehensive spectroscopic (including 1D and 2D-NMR and HR-ESI-MS) analysis. Anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive and cytotoxic activities of three new compounds were evaluated. 3β,20-epoxyabieta-8,11,13-triene-3α,12-diol showed weak cytotoxicity against tumor cell lines NCI-H1975, HepG2, MCF-7, while fortalpinoid R and 3-acetonyl-3,5,7,4'-tetrahydroxy-2-methoxyflavanone were not active at 80 μM. None of these compounds showed anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activities.

Four undescribed naturally diterpenolignans, and two cephalotane diterpenoids, along with seven known compounds, including two pairs of enantiomers, were isolated from the twigs and leaves of Cephalotaxus oliveri Mast. Their structures were elucidated via spectroscopic data interpretation, chiral-phase HPLC analysis, NMR calculations, and electronic circular dichroism analysis. All the isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxic activities against three kinds of human tumor cell lines.

Twelve new alkaloids (1-12) and nine known analogues (13-21) were isolated and identified from the twigs and leaves of The structures of the new compounds (1-12) were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Cephalosine H (8) is the third example of an alkaloid containing the cephalolancine skeleton. Cephalosines J and K (10 and 11) are the rare natural Δ(2)1-alkene-6-hydroxyl homoerythrina-type alkaloids isolated from the genus.

Plants of the Cephalotaxus genus are rich in structurally diverse and naturally bioactive components, while limited studies have been reported for Cephalotaxus oliveri. Two undescribed flavonolignans and four undescribed biflavonoids, as well as thirteen known compounds, were isolated from the twigs and leaves of C. oliveri.

Twenty-two cephalotaxine-type and ten homoerythrina-type alkaloids, including seven previously undescribed ones, were isolated from the twigs and leaves and the seed kernels of . Their structures were established by spectroscopic analysis, single crystal X-ray diffraction, and ECD calculation methods. Cephalofortunine A β--oxide (1) is the first nitrogen-oxidized homoerythrina-type alkaloid.

Cephaloliverols A (1) and B (2), two meroterpenoids based on a sterol and an abietane diterpene possessing a dioxane ring, were isolated from the twigs and leaves of . Their structures were established by spectroscopic analysis and quantum chemical calculation. 1 and 2 represent the first sterol-hybrid meroditerpenoids.
