Background: Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the most prevalent pathogens responsible for multiple infections in healthcare settings and the community. K. pneumoniae CG147, primarily including ST147 (the founder ST), ST273, and ST392, is one of the most globally successful MDR clone linked to various carbapenemases.

Background: Optical spectral transmission (OST) is a modern diagnostic method capable of quantifying inflammation in the finger and wrist joints of arthritis patients by assessing the blood-specific absorption of light transmitted through a tissue. The diagnostic performance of this modality has not been adequately examined and data regarding OST associations with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are limited. Aim of this study was therefore to investigate the performance of OST in assessing joint inflammation as compared to MRI in patients with inflammatory arthritis (IA).

Background: Infections may play a role in the etiology of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), with Bordetella pertussis being a potential agent. The objective was to analyze the association of SIDS and infant pertussis hospitalization rates over time, comparing a previously unvaccinated population (West Germany) versus a predominantly vaccinated population (East Germany).
Methods: We calculated SIDS rates per 1000 live births per state.

Background: Person-centred maternal care is associated with positive experiences in high-income countries. Little is known about the transferability of this concept to non-Western, low-income settings. We aimed to explore women's experiences of care and investigate satisfaction with antenatal care (ANC) in relation to person-centred care and unmet psychosocial needs in rural Ethiopia.

Background: The Japanese eel (Anguilla japonica) holds significant economic value in East Asia, but limitations in understanding its reproductive biology have hindered advancements in artificial breeding techniques. Previous research has primarily focused on conserved sex differentiation genes, offering limited insights into the broader molecular mechanisms driving gonadal development and sexual dimorphism. To address these limitations, this study aims to investigate key genes and pathways involved in gonadal development through a comprehensive transcriptomic analysis of male and female eel gonads.
