Background: The cerebral Renin-Angiotensin System might have a role in anxiety and depression development.
Objective: We explored the effects of Angiotensin II Type 1 receptor blockers (ARBs) and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE-Is) on anxiety and depression in Parkinson's Disease (PD).
Methods: Four hundred and twenty-three newly diagnosed drug-naïve PD patients were evaluated using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15) tests and were monitored at baseline and for up to 3 years.

Although it has demonstrated favorable efficacy and safety in clinical trials, the strict inclusion and exclusion criteria may not fully reflect its safety profile in real-world settings. As its use becomes more widespread in clinical practice, understanding its safety in real-world applications is crucial.

Background: Novel antidepressive substances are challenging the explanations for the mechanisms of action of traditional psychopharmacology.
Objective: What could be the shared effects of various antidepressants and in this context what role do extrapharmacological factors, such as the body and environment, play?
Material And Method: The available literature on clinical and preclinical data for assumed combined active factors of serotonergic psychedelic drugs, (es)ketamine, monoaminergic antidepressants and zuranolone are presented and the influence of context factors on the individual mechanisms of action is discussed.
Results: There are many indications that classical and novel pharmacological approaches could share similar mechanisms of action in the treatment of depression.

The TRPC5 channel plays an important role in regulating various physiological processes, which is related to various human diseases, especially psychiatric and kidney diseases. Although the TRPC5 channel is one of the essential potential target, no drugs against TRPC5 channels have been granted in the market to date. In this study, based on the structure of hit compound ph1, we further synthesied 49 compounds of novel quinazolinone and heterocyclic fusion pyrimidinone derivatives, and their activities were evaluated by electrophysiological assays.

Objective: To evaluate whether there is an association between maternal mental health, purchase of psychotropic drugs, socioeconomic status and major congenital anomalies in offspring.
Methods: A register-based cohort study of 6189 Finnish primiparous women who had a singleton delivery between 2009 and 2015. Data on pregnancy and delivery outcomes, psychiatric diagnosis, prescription drug purchases and offspring congenital anomalies were obtained from Finnish national registers.
