Purpose: In this study, the results after corrective osteotomy of the base of the first metacarpal bone are presented.
Patients And Methods: There were 24 malunion following a fracture of the base of the first metacarpal, these included 19 Bennett's fractures, 3 Rolando fractures, and 2 Winterstein fractures. The time between the corrective osteotomy and the initial trauma averaged 16 (range, 4 to 66) weeks.

Implant Arthroplasty in the Hand and Wrist The first implant arthroplasties were conducted as early as the end of the 19th century. After a few decades, during which surgeons focused on the hip and knee, research on joint arthroplasty of the hand and wrist was intensified. Today, it is possible to implant a prosthesis in nearly every joint of the hand and wrist, giving us an alternative to joint fusion in severe joint destruction.

Purpose: This study analyses our results after revision surgery for failed trapezectomy and suspension arthroplasty with painful proximalisation of the 1(st) metacarpal using the Mini TightRope(®).
Patients And Methods: In a prospective observational study, 5 patients (4 women and 1 man) with an average age of 62 years were treated with the Mini TightRope(®) for revision of a failed Epping arthroplasty with painful proximalisation of the first ray.
