Plasmid DNA transfection is one of the fundamental tools of biomedical research. Here, we found that plasmid DNA transfection mediated by liposomes activates multiple innate immune responses in several widely used cell lines. Their activations were visible by detection of stress granules (SG) and cGAS-DNA condensates (cGC) in the transfected cells in a plasmid DNA dose-dependent manner.

Introduction: The leading cause of death in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients is cardiovascular-related events, including myocardial infraction-induced ventricular arrhythmia. Previous studies have shown that T2DM-induced functional remodeling of cardiac vagal postganglionic (CVP) neurons contributes to ventricular arrhythmogenesis. As leptin resistance is common in T2DM patients, and CVP neurons are located in epicardial adipose pads, a tissue that secretes leptin, in this study we aimed to elucidate a correlation between leptin resistance and CVP neuronal dysfunction in T2DM.

Tralokinumab is a monoclonal antibody selectively targeting IL-13, approved for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD), for which real-world data are scarce. This prospective, observational, multicentric study aimed to assess the long-term effectiveness and safety of tralokinumab in patients with AD in a real-world setting. Primary outcomes included 50%, 75%, and 90% improvement in Eczema Area and Severity Index score (EASI50, EASI75, EASI90, respectively) and improvements in Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) at 1 year.

Electrotaxis, the process by which eukaryotic cells establish a polarity and move directionally along an electric field, is a well-studied mechanism to steer the migration of cells in vitro and in vivo. While the influence of an electric field on single cells in culture is well-documented, the influence of the electric field on cell-cell interactions has not been well studied. In this work, we quantify the length, duration and number of cell-cell interactions during electrotaxis of human corneal epithelial cells and compare the properties of these interactions with those arising in the absence of an electric field.
