Since the COVID-19 pandemic first hit Wuhan, China, in December 2019, scientists have been racing to develop and test novel vaccines to protect against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The speed of scientific discovery related to COVID-19 is unprecedented. With several vaccine candidates already being tested in clinical trials, we pose the question: what will the vaccine hesitant do in the face of this pandemic?

The non-polio Enteroviruses (NPEVs), consist of enteroviruses, coxsackieviruses, echoviruses, and rhinoviruses, are causative agents for a wide variety of diseases, ranging from common cold to encephalitis and acute flaccid paralysis (AFP). In recent years, several NPEVs have become serious public health threats, include EV-A71, which has caused epidemics of hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HMFD) in Southeast Asia, and EV-D68, which caused outbreaks of severe respiratory disease in children worldwide. Infections with these viruses are associated with neurological diseases like aseptic meningitis and AFP.

Viral co-infections pose significant challenges, causing substantial economic losses worldwide in the poultry industry. Among these, avian lLeukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) and chicken infectious anemia virus (CIAV) are particularly concerning, as they frequently lead to co-infections in chickens, further compromising their immune defenses, increasing susceptibility to secondary infections and diminishing vaccine efficacy. While our previous studies have examined the pathogenicity and immunosuppressive effects of these co-infections in vitro and in vivo, the key genes and molecular pathways involved remain largely unexplored.

Immunotherapy is one of the rising stars in the field of anticancer regiments. Aimed at reinvigorating immune cytotoxicity, this platform is capable of bulking up memory subsets by which protection against tumors is served. The most commonly applied immunotherapy is immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICIs) which received FDA approval for non-small lung cancer (NSLC) in 2014.

Introduction: While the general immune response to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is well-understood, the long-term effects of Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1/Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus-2 (HIV-1/SARS-CoV-2) co-infection on the immune system remain unclear. This study investigates the immune response in people with HIV-1 (PWH) co-infected with SARS-CoV-2 to understand its long-term health consequences.
Methods: A retrospective longitudinal study of PWH with suppressed viral load and SARS-CoV-2 infection was conducted.

Introduction: Since its isolation in the UK, the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant has become an epidemic. This study aimed to decipher the viral appearance and genomic characterization of the Delta variant isolated from patients in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Methodology: Samples were collected from the West Erbil Emergency Hospital, and infection by SARS-CoV2 was confirmed using Real-Time PCR.
