We describe a simple, cost-effective, green method for producing capped silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) using a handheld portable mesh nebulizer. The precursor solution containing a 1:1 mixture of silver nitrate (AgNO) and ligand (glycerol or sodium alginate) was sprayed using the nebulizer. The Ag NPs were generated in the water microdroplets within a few milliseconds under ambient conditions without any external reducing agent or action of a radiation source.

Precise identification of avian schistosomes in the genus Trichobilharzia at the species level is difficult and requires both traditional morphological and molecular techniques. To obtain satisfactory results by traditional methods, the characteristics of the intact adults or large fragments of male and females are necessary. The present study aimed to introduce a more efficient method for collecting eggs and both fragments and intact worms for morphological identification of visceral Trichobilharzia spp.

Background: Nebulization during mechanical ventilation is impeded by large extra-pulmonary drug deposition and long administration durations which currently limit implementation of inhaled antibiotic therapy. Direct intra-tracheal delivery using a sprayer represents an appealing alternative investigated in small animal models, but large animal data are lacking.
Methods: Amikacin was administered through intravenous infusion (20 mg/kg), nebulization (60 mg/kg) and direct intra-tracheal spray (30 mg/kg) to 10 intubated piglets, in a randomized cross-over design.

Background: There is a therapeutic gap for patients with deep partial thickness wounds (Grade IIb) of moderate size that were initially not treated with split- or mesh grafting to avoid overgrafting, but developed delayed wound healing around two weeks after injury--at which time grafting is typically not indicated anymore. Delayed wound healing is often associated with esthetically unsatisfactory results and sometimes functional problems. An innovative cell isolation method for cell spray transplantation at the point of care, which eliminates cell culture prior to treatment, was implemented for this population of burn patients in our center.
