Endocarditis in Persons Who Inject Drugs.

We report 2 cases of infective endocarditis in injection drug users due to infection. Although cardiac involvement is a frequent sequela of brucellosis and endocarditis is often seen with injection drug use, endocarditis in persons who inject drugs without zoonotic exposure has not been reported to date.

Background: In the last years, the Cor-Knot device has been increasingly used in heart valve surgery. Our aim was to investigate the incidence of valvular complications in patients who underwent valvular surgery using the Cor-Knot device in multicentric cohorts at one-year follow-up.

Late-stage eosinophilic myocarditis (or Löffler endocarditis) is known to occur in patients with hypereosinophilic syndrome and can cause restrictive cardiomyopathy. Eosinophilic myocarditis is an acute life-threatening inflammatory disease of the heart that can be associated with cancer. We report a case of a 70-year-old White woman, previously treated for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in remission, admitted for acute dyspnea with a 1-year history of hypereosinophilia.
