Ca(PO)(OH) doped with GdPO (HA-GP) was synthesized by a sol-gel technique, and its phase composition depended on the GdPO content. At low doping levels, the phase structure was composed of hydroxyapatite and some Ca(PO), and the content of the latter decreased with the doping content; when the doping content reached to 15 mol%, however, the Ca(PO) amount revealed a significant increase, and GdPO turned to be precipitated. With the addition of GdPO, the microstructure of HA-GP pellets became dense, and the grain size decreased. GdPO doping enhanced the hardness of HA-GP due to a grain size effect. With increasing the doping content, the toughness increased initially followed by a decrease, and 7.5 mol% doping (HA-GP7.5) led to the highest toughness. Magnetization tests revealed that GdPO had paramagnetic behavior, which made it suitable for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent. The MRI contrast behavior of HA-GP7.5 was investigated. With the increase of the concentration, the T weighted MR image revealed enhanced brightness, while the brightness of T weighted MR images reduced gradually. Considering the phase structure, mechanical properties, and MRI contrast behavior, HA-GP7.5 might have a potential to be used in clinical medicine.

Background: Aging associates with decreased functional connectivity between brain regions linked to musical rhythm perception. Producing rhythmic music may result in strengthened functional connectivity of these regions, but more evidence is needed to support intervention design. Currently, few studies directly contrast younger and older adults' rhythmic music performance to understand brain-behavior relationships.

Background: Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is associated with significant mortality and morbidity. The impact of SAH on human glymphatic function remains unknown.

Methods: This prospective, controlled study investigated whether human glymphatic function is altered after SAH, how it differs over time, and possible underlying mechanisms.

Background: Luminal and hemodynamic evaluations of the cervical arteries inform the diagnosis and management of patients with cervical arterial disease.

Purpose: To demonstrate a 3D nonenhanced quantitative quiescent interval slice-selective (qQISS) magnetic resonance angiographic (MRA) strategy that provides simultaneous hemodynamic and luminal evaluation of the cervical arteries.

Study Type: Prospective.

Background: Isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) wild-type (IDH) glioblastomas (GB) are more aggressive and have a poorer prognosis than IDH mutant (IDH) tumors, emphasizing the need for accurate preoperative differentiation. However, a distinct imaging biomarker for differentiation mostly lacking. Intratumoral thrombosis has been reported as a histopathological biomarker for GB.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the deadliest malignant tumor, with a grim 5-year overall survival rate of about 12%. As its incidence and mortality rates rise, it is likely to become the second-leading cause of cancer-related death. The radiological assessment determined the stage and management of PDAC.
