Astragalus adsurgens, a significant forage plant cultivated in arid regions of northwest China, remains underexplored for its triterpenoid saponins and medicinal properties compared to the extensively studied Astragalus membranaceus. To explore the phytochemical profile of A. adsurgens for its potential application in the medical field, we employed ultra-pressure liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry-based method to identify cycloartane-type triterpenes.

Nine previously undescribed (1-9) and seven known (10-16) cycloartane-type triterpenoids were isolated and characterized from Combretum quadrangulare Kurz using physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. The absolute configurations of these compounds were determined through modified Mosher's method and quantum chemical calculation of electronic circular dichroism (ECD) and vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra. Their inhibitory activities against PCSK9 secretion were assessed, and a plausible structure-activity relationship was delineated.

Plants of the Meliaceae family have long attracted researchers' interest due to their various insecticidal activities, with triterpenes being the main active ingredients. In this paper, we discuss triterpenoids with insecticidal activity from insecticidal plant species of genera (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , and ) in the family Meliaceae. Among these genera, deserves further research, with twelve species possessing insecticidal activity.

The isolation, structure determination, and biological evaluation of constituents from the organic extract of Wahlert (Meliaceae) resulted in the isolation of 51 secondary metabolites, including 14 new terpenoids (six cycloartanes, four tirucallanes/euphanes, three limonoids, and a 7-keto sterol). Among the new compounds, is the first triterpenoid with a trioxaspiro[4.4]nonane side chain, while - are the first 17-γ-lactone tetranortriterpenoids with four oxygenated functional groups at C-1, -3, -6, and -7.
