Magnetic biochar (MBC), as an environmentally friendly material, has been extensively used for the remediation of soil and groundwater contamination. The retention and release of nanoplastics (NPs) with carboxyl (NPs-COOH) or amino functionalization (NPs- NH) in saturated porous media were investigated under varying conditions of ionic strength (IS), MBC addition, humic acid (HA) concentration, and cation types. The reversible and irreversible retention of NPs was examined by altering the IS, increasing the solution pH, and inducing cation exchange.

The increasing use of GBCAs has raised concerns about the release of gadolinium (Gd)(III) into the environment and potential risks for human health. Initially, multiple administrations of GBCAs were associated only with nephrogenic system fibrosis disease in individuals with impaired kidney function.

Small nano-plastics (NPs, < 30 nm) with a high accumulation in biological organisms in coastal areas might react with widely presented bacteria and phosphate, which remains unclear. Therefore, the mechanisms governing the transport of two-sized NPs with Escherichia coli (E. coli) and phosphate were investigated in hyper-saline water-saturated sand porous media.

Salinity stress is a critical abiotic factor that severely limits the growth of crops and agricultural productivity. This study explores the potential of exogenously applied salicylic acid (SA) and 24-epibrassinolide (EbR) to mitigate the adverse effects of salt stress on camelina by enhancing physiological processes critical for plant resilience, such as water retention, membrane stability, and pigment biosynthesis. This research was conducted to determine the effects of two hormones applied under salt stress on the growth and development of the camelina plant (Camelina sativa) under greenhouse conditions.
