Whether induced naturally or by anthropogenic activities, it remains a menace to global public health. A foreknowledge of the weather/climate change can help in mitigating the impact of disasters emanating from these changes.

Recent context-control learning studies have shown that switch costs are reduced in a particular context predicting a high probability of switching as compared to another context predicting a low probability of switching. These context-specific switch probability effects suggest that control of task sets, through experience, can become associated with a particular context cue and be retrieved subsequently to modulate task-switching efficiency. However, advanced task foreknowledge, mediated by top-down retrieval of a specific task set, also modulates switch costs, as shown in the task-switching literature.

When participants must recall a sequence of items in reverse order just after their presentation, inconsistent findings have been observed relative to when participants must recall a sequence in their presentation order. Recently, the Encoding-Retrieval Matching Hypothesis (ERM) has been developed to account for these inconsistencies. Within the ERM hypothesis, foreknowledge of recall direction plays an important role.

Purpose: Artificial intelligence diagnosis and triage of large vessel occlusion may quicken clinical response for a subset of time-sensitive acute ischemic stroke patients, improving outcomes. Differences in architectural elements within data-driven convolutional neural network (CNN) models impact performance. Foreknowledge of effective model architectural elements for domain-specific problems can narrow the search for candidate models and inform strategic model design and adaptation to optimize performance on available data.
