Introduction: Without disease-modifying interventions, Medicare and Medicaid spending on Alzheimer's disease (AD) management is expected to reach 637 billion USD annually by 2050. The recent advent of promising AD therapies after decades of a near-total failure rate in clinical trials suggests that more disease-modifying therapies are on the horizon. In this review, we assess the late-stage pipeline of disease-modifying candidates for AD and offer a novel classification of intervention candidates by treatment paradigms-groups of candidates that share an underlying biological mechanism of action and general disease target.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are widely distributed in paddy soils, and their multi-phase partitioning in soil fractions was proved to be strongly interact with soil microbial community composition and functions. Despite this, soil bacterial and fungal metabolic molecular effects on PFAS water-soil interface migration in waterlogged paddy fields still remain unclear. This study integrated soil untargeted metabolomics with microbial amplicon sequencing to elucidate soil metabolic modulations of 15 PFAS interface release.

Background: Group peer telementoring supports interprofessional learning through multi-directional and synchronous engagement where experienced and knowledgeable individuals exchange guidance and support with differently experienced and knowledgeable individuals. A leading example of group peer telementoring among medical specialists and medical generalists is Project Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (Project ECHO), a rapidly spreading program with demonstrated learning outcomes among community-based medical generalists. Yet the multi-directional exchanges that characterize group peer telementoring interactions suggest that specialists facilitating sessions may also learn from the group experiences.
