Synthesis of nanoparticles by using plants is biological method of synthesis that is ecofriendly as well as low cost. Naturally available precursor in the form of plants extract is used. In our research we used three different plants such as , and that are easy to cultivate and also available everywhere. By using above mentioned plants we synthesize two types of nanoparticles one is (Ag-NPs) and other one is (Cu-NPs). Chemical method of nanoparticles synthesis have hazardous to health as well as have environmental threats but as comparison with biological method of nanoparticles synthesis is very environment friendly also safe in use. FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) spectroscopy analysis and UV-Visible Spectrophotometer are used for characterization. Our research work is actually based on wastewater remediation by using silver and copper nanoparticles. Water that is contaminated with naphthalene used, further decontaminated and purify by using nanoparticles. Different batch experiments are conducted to check the efficiency of these synthesized nanoparticles by using naphthalene (PAHs) as removal area. 98.81% removal is higher by using plant and least adsorption power is in case of that is 95.29%. At the end, kinetic and equilibrium study applied.

Electrocatalytic Mapping of Metal Fatigue with Persistent Slip Bands.

Department of Chemistry and Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Catalysis and Innovative Materials, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China.

Metal fatigue, characterized by the accumulation of dislocation defects, is a prevalent failure mode in structural materials. Nondestructive early-stage detection of metal fatigue is extremely important to prevent disastrous events and protect human life. However, the lack of a precise quantitative method to visualize fatigue with spatiotemporal resolution poses a significant obstacle to timely detection.

Self-powered broadband photodetectors (SPBPDs) hold great potential for next-generation optoelectronic applications, but their performance is often limited by interface defects that impair charge transport and increase recombination losses. In this work, we report the enhancement of the photodetection efficiency of SPBPDs by partially substituting copper (Cu) with silver (Ag) in kesterite CuZnSnS (ACZTS) thin films. Varying Ag concentrations (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%) are incorporated into the CZTS layer, forming a TiO/ACZTS heterojunction in superstrate configuration fabricated via a low-cost sol-gel spin-coating technique with low-temperature open air annealing avoiding conventional postdeposition sulfurization or selenization.

Are metal-based antibacterial gels a potential alternative for disinfection in contemporary endodontics?

Evid Based Dent

January 2025

Doctoral Research Fellow and Specialty Trainee (Endodontics), School of Dental Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Newcastle University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.

Aims: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a novel antimicrobial gel, containing copper and silver nanoparticles, for use in root canal disinfection.

Methods: Copper and silver-based gels were created in-house, using a support network of biocompatible polymers, including polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), and polyethylene glycol (PEG). Six experimental groups were created, three containing silver ions and three copper ions, where the PVA, PVP and PEG ratios were also adjusted in each group to test the gel's physical state.
