Backgroud: Biomimetic nanoplatforms based on membrane coating strategies have received increasing attention in the field of medical research. However, it cannot perform biomedical imaging screening, which is essential for real-time identification. As a rich source of new drug discovery, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has made important contributions to the treatment of many diseases.

Investigations into fruit and vegetable processing residues (FVPRs) offer huge opportunities to discover novel therapeutics against many diseases. In this study, detailed investigation of Garcinia mangostana fruit peel extract led to the isolation and identification of ten known compounds (1-10). Further, a new series of α-mangostin derived sulphonyl piperzines, aryl alkynes and 1,2,3-triazole derivatives were synthesized using Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cyclo-addition reaction ("click" chemistry).

Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) has been extensively used for the identification, management, and diagnosis of various retinal and choroidal diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, among others. This exam enables clinicians to evaluate retinal morphology and the pathophysiology of retinal vasculature. However, adverse events, including from mild to severe reactions to sodium fluorescein, have been reported.

Advances in molecular biology have enabled the identification of numerous cancer biomarkers, offering the potential to improve the diagnosis and prognosis of cancer. In non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the role of platelet-derived microvesicles (PMVs) in cancer progression has received limited attention. While previous studies have focused on the increase of extracellular vesicles in plasma and their interaction with cancer, the expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) delivered through PMVs following platelet activation has remained largely unexplored.

Context: Alpha-glucosidase enzyme is considered an important therapeutic target for controlling hyperglycemia associated with type 2 diabetes. Novel scaffolds identified as potential alpha-glucosidase inhibitors from the Maybridge library utilizing pharmacophore modeling, molecular docking and biological evaluation are reported in this manuscript.
Method: A total of 51 xanthone series scaffolds previously reported as alpha-glucosidase inhibitors were collected and used as training and test sets.
