A molecularly thin layer of 2-aminobenzenethiol (2-ABT) was adsorbed onto nanoporous p-type silicon (b-Si) photocathodes decorated with Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs). The addition of 2-ABT alters the balance of the CO reduction and hydrogen evolution reactions, resulting in more selective and efficient reduction of CO to CO. The 2-ABT adsorbate layer was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and modeled by density functional theory calculations. Ex situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) of the 2-ABT modified electrodes suggests that surface Ag atoms are in the +1 oxidation state and coordinated to 2-ABT via Ag-S bonds. Under visible light illumination, the onset potential for CO reduction was -50 mV vs. RHE, an anodic shift of about 150 mV relative to a sample without 2-ABT. The adsorption of 2-ABT lowers the overpotentials for both CO reduction and hydrogen evolution. A comparison of electrodes functionalized with different aromatic thiols and amines suggests that the primary role of the thiol group in 2-ABT is to anchor the NH group near the Ag surface, where it serves to bind CO and also to assist in proton transfer.

Herein, we report the synthesis of a series of new compounds by combining 2-aminobenzothiazole with various profens. The compounds were characterized using techniques such as H- and C-NMR, FT-IR spectrometry, and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), with detailed HRMS analysis conducted for each molecule. Their biological activities were tested in vitro, revealing significant anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, comparable to those of standard reference compounds.

Exfoliation and interfacial modification of two-dimensional (2D) polymeric carbon nitride (CN) are considerably vital for applications in photo/electrocatalysis fields. Here, a grinding-ultrasonic route was designed to construct nickel bis(chelate) complex (Ni(abt), abt = 2-aminobenzenethiolate)-modified CN ultrathin nanosheets. Under the assistance of the shear force derived from the grinding process, Ni(abt) was implanted into the interlamination of bulk CN, resulting in the formation of ultrathin CN (UCN) nanosheets.

A series of Pd(II) complexes containing -cyano-aminothiophenolate (ocap) ligands have been prepared and their molecular structures elucidated. Hg(II) ocap complexes, [Hg{SCHXN(CN)}] (X = H, Me) (1), react with NaS to afford HgS and Na[ocap] which reacts with K[PdCl] to afford palladium ocap complexes [Pd{SCHXN(CN)}] (2). A second route to these coordination polymers has also been developed from reactions of 2-aminobenzothiazole (abt) complexes, -PdCl(abt) (3), with NaOH.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is prone to relapse. Targeted therapy with a specific inhibitor of the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 ABT-199 is an effective method for relapsed and refractory patients, but drug resistance is likely, which is primarily related to high Mcl-1 and S100A8 expression. All-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) can inhibit Bcl-2 and Mcl-1 expression.

Intrahepatic, perihilar, and distal cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA, pCCA, dCCA) are highly malignant tumours with increasing mortality rates due to therapy resistances. Among the mechanisms mediating resistance, overexpression of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 proteins (Bcl-2, Bcl-x , Mcl-1) is particularly important. In this study, we investigated whether antiapoptotic protein patterns are prognostically relevant and potential therapeutic targets in CCA.
