An autofocusing algorithm for ptychography is proposed. The method optimizes a sharpness metric that would be observed in a differential interference microscope and is valid for both amplitude and phase modulating specimens. We experimentally demonstrate that the algorithm, based on the extended ptychographic iterative engine (ePIE), calibrates the sample-detector distance with an accuracy within the depth of field of the ptychographic microscope. We show that the method can be used to determine slice separation in multislice ptychography, provided there are isolated regions on each slice of the specimen that do not axially overlap.

Based on a split-step Fourier algorithm, the transmission of circular Airy beams with quadratic phase modulation (QPM) is investigated in the fractional Schrödinger equation (FSE) under diffraction modulations (periodic modulation, linear modulation and power function modulation) and external potentials (parabolic potential and linear potential). The results show that QPM is able to change the focusing position and intensity, as well as the transmission trajectory of the beam. In a periodic modulation, the circular Airy beam (CAB) exhibits periodic variation characteristics, and the beam splitting is retarded under the action of the QPM.

Enhanced SAR Compression through Multi-Look Doppler Compensation and Auto-Focusing Technique.

This paper presents a simple and streamlined compensation technique for improving the quality of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images based on the Range Doppler Algorithm (RDA). Incorrect Doppler estimation in the space orbit, caused by unexpected radar motion errors, orbit mismatches, and other factors, can significantly degrade SAR image quality. These inaccuracies result in mismatches between the azimuth-matched filter and the received Doppler chirp signal.

Micro-stereolithography (μSL) is an advanced additive manufacturing technique that enables the fabrication of highly precise microstructures with fine feature resolution. One of the primary challenges in μSL is achieving and maintaining precise focus throughout the fabrication process. For the successful application of μSL, it is essential to maintain the sample surface within a focal depth of several microns.

In the deep-sea environment, the volume available for an in-situ gene sequencer is severely limited. In addition, optical imaging systems are subject to real-time, large-scale defocusing problems caused by ambient temperature fluctuations and vibrational perturbations. To address these challenges, we propose an edge detection algorithm for defocused images based on grayscale gradients and establish a defocus state detection model with nanometer resolution capabilities by relying on the inherent critical illumination light field.
