Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Therefore, understanding the factors linked to patient survival is essential. Recently, multi-omics analysis has emerged, allowing for patient groups to be classified according to prognosis and at a more individual level, to support the use of precision medicine. Here, we combined RNA expression and miRNA expression with clinical information, to conduct a multi-omics analysis, using publicly available datasets (the cancer genome atlas (TCGA) focusing on lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD)). We were able to successfully subclass patients according to survival. The classifiers we developed, using inferred labels obtained from patient subtypes showed that a support vector machine (SVM), gave the best classification results, with an accuracy of 0.82 with the test dataset. Using these subtypes, we ranked genes based on RNA expression levels. The top 25 genes were investigated, to elucidate the mechanisms that underlie patient prognosis. Bioinformatics analyses showed that the expression levels of six out of 25 genes (, , , , , and ) were associated with LUAD patient survival ( < 0.05), and pathway analyses indicated that major cancer signaling was altered in the subtypes.

Militarine is a monomer molecule with abundant and distinctive biological properties, also the lead member of secondary metabolites in Bletilla striata, while its biosynthesis mechanism is still unknown. To improve the production efficiency of militarine, sodium acetate and salicylic acid (SA) were introduced as elicitors into the suspension-cultured callus of B. striata.

Extreme environments such as hyperarid, hypersaline, hyperthermal environments, and the deep sea harbor diverse microbial communities, which are specially adapted to extreme conditions and are known as extremophiles. These extremophilic organisms have developed unique survival strategies, making them ideal models for studying microbial diversity, evolution, and adaptation to adversity. They also play critical roles in biogeochemical cycles.

Coronaviruses (CoV) emerge suddenly from animal reservoirs to cause novel diseases in new hosts. Discovered in 2012, the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) is endemic in camels in the Middle East and is continually causing local outbreaks and epidemics. While all three newly emerging human CoVs from the past 20 years (SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, and MERS-CoV) cause respiratory disease, each CoV has unique host interactions that drive differential pathogeneses.

Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is a major obstacle in liver transplantation, especially with steatotic donor livers. Dysbiosis of the gut microbiota has been implicated in modulating IRI, and plays a pivotal role in regulating host inflammatory and immune responses, but its specific role in liver transplantation IRI remains unclear. This study explores whether can mitigate IRI and its underlying mechanisms.

Recently, exportin gene family members have been demonstrated to play essential roles in tumor progression. However, research on the clinical significance of exportin gene family members is limited in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Pan-cancer data, ccRCC multiomics data, and single-cell sequence were included to analyze the differences in DNA methylation modification, single nucleotide variations (SNVs), copy number variations (CNVs), and expression levels of exportin gene family members.
