Spontaneous hepatitis associated with severe jaundice occurred in 90% of an inbred strain of Long-Evans rats. The rapidly progressive syndrome was characterized by abrupt onset, hyperbilirubinemia and increased serum levels of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase and glutamic pyruvic transaminase, associated with massive and multifocal necrosis of the liver. This strain should provide a useful animal model for analysis of the pathogenesis of fulminant hepatitis in humans.

Supramolecular co-assembly and co-presentation of the HCV envelope E1E2 heterodimer complex and core protein presents an attractive vaccine design strategy for achieving effective humoral and cellular immunity. Angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) and angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARB) are antihypertension medications that improve cardiac remodeling and protect the heart. However, at the early stage of hypertension, it is still unclear how these two drugs affect the transcriptomic profile of multiple organs in hypertensive rats and the transcriptomic differences between them.
