Conducting polymers are promising material candidates in diverse applications including energy storage, flexible electronics, and bioelectronics. However, the fabrication of conducting polymers has mostly relied on conventional approaches such as ink-jet printing, screen printing, and electron-beam lithography, whose limitations have hampered rapid innovations and broad applications of conducting polymers. Here we introduce a high-performance 3D printable conducting polymer ink based on poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) for 3D printing of conducting polymers. The resultant superior printability enables facile fabrication of conducting polymers into high resolution and high aspect ratio microstructures, which can be integrated with other materials such as insulating elastomers via multi-material 3D printing. The 3D-printed conducting polymers can also be converted into highly conductive and soft hydrogel microstructures. We further demonstrate fast and streamlined fabrications of various conducting polymer devices, such as a soft neural probe capable of in vivo single-unit recording.

Flexible and Durable Conducting Fabric Electrodes for Next-Generation Wearable Supercapacitors.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

This study presents the fabrication of highly conducting Au fabric electrodes using a layer-by-layer (LBL) approach and its application toward energy storage. Through the ligand-exchange mechanism, the alternating layers of tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (TREN) and gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) encapsulated with tetraoctylammonium bromide (TOABr) ligands (Au-TOABr) were deposited onto the fabric to achieve a highly conducting Au fabric (0.12 Ω/□) at room temperature in just two LBL cycles.

Tailored Nucleation-Growth Strategy for Precise Self-assembly of Block Copolymers.

Chemistry

January 2025

Beijing Institute of Technology, Polymer Materials, 5 Zhongguancun Nandajie, 100081, Beijing, CHINA.

The self-assembly of block copolymers (BCPs) to form nanostructures of various morphologies and controllable dimensions has been a very promising research area in nanotechnology in recent decades. This review mainly summarizes the recent advances in precise and controllable self-assembly of BCPs through a tailored nucleation-growth strategy to modulate the self-assembly behavior of the BCPs. These efforts have led to a better understanding of the self-assembly mechanisms and opened new possibilities for creating novel materials with designable properties.

Carbon quantum dot-anchored polyaniline on electrospun carbon nanofibers as freestanding electrodes for symmetric solid-state supercapacitors.

Key Laboratory for Photonic and Electronic Bandgap Materials, Ministry of Education, School of Physics and Electronic Engineering, Harbin Normal University, Harbin 150025, People's Republic of China.

A binder-free and freestanding electrode was designed by uniformly immobilizing carbon quantum dot (CQD)-anchored polyaniline (PANI) heterostructures onto electrospun carbon nanofibers (CNFs) a facile hierarchical assembly process. The fabricated freestanding CNF/PANI/CQD electrode exhibits a unique three-dimensional (3D) network nanostructure, which accelerates ion migration between the interior and surface of the electrode, thereby enhancing its charging and discharging performance. Moreover, the functional groups on the surface of CQDs could anchor PANI through possible chemical bonding, which not only improves the stability of the PANI/CQD heterojunction but also creates an additional conductive channel for the PANI polymer.

Objective: Although pegylated interferon α-2b (PEG-IFN α-2b) therapy for chronic hepatitis B has received increasing attention, determining the optimal treatment course remains challenging. This research aimed to develop an efficient model for predicting interferon (IFN) treatment course.

Methods: Patients with chronic hepatitis B, undergoing PEG-IFN α-2b monotherapy or combined with NAs (Nucleoside Analogs), were recruited from January 2018 to December 2023 at Tianjin Third Central Hospital.

Background: The Arp2/3 complex is a key regulator of tumor metastasis, and targeting its subunits offers potential for anti-metastatic therapy. However, the expression profiles, prognostic relevance, and diagnostic value of its subunits across cancers remain poorly understood. This study aims to investigate the clinical relevance of Arp2/3 complex subunits, particularly ARPC1A, in pan-cancer, and to further analyze the potential biological mechanisms of ARPC1A, as well as its association with immune infiltration and chemotherapy drug sensitivity.
