Species of the varunid genus Parahelice Sakai, Türkay Yang, 2006, inhabit high intertidal areas of oceanic islands of the tropical Indo-West Pacific region. As several species of Parahelice and Pseudohelice subquadrata (Dana, 1851) were found to be sympatric in some places, and their morphological differences are minor, especially in females, the misidentification of species is not uncommon in the literature. In this study, the DNA barcoding marker, mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI), was applied to confirm species identities and this was correlated with the specific characters of males and females. Distributions of three species of Parahelice were also updated, with Par. daviei (Sakai, Türkay Yang, 2006), Par. pilimana (A. Milne-Edwards, 1873), and Par. pilosa (Sakai, Türkay Yang, 2006) being new records to Taiwan, and Par. pilosa new to Bali, Indonesia.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of mortality among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), presenting unique challenges in diagnosis and management. Advanced CKD patients often present with atypical symptoms, and conventional diagnostic and interventional approaches carry risks, including contrast-induced nephropathy and the potential need for renal replacement therapy. These risks have led to the phenomenon of "renalism," where necessary procedures may be deferred due to concerns over renal injury.

Programs allowing access to investigational drugs and off-label drug use for serious diseases have often been applied to pediatric cancers. A clinical study conducted under the Japanese "Patient-Proposed Healthcare Services" evaluated the efficacy and safety of dabrafenib plus trametinib in children with BRAF V600 mutant glioma (jRCTs071210071). This study successfully provided unapproved and off-label medications to four enrolled patients, two with low-grade glioma and two with high-grade glioma (median age: 10.

Objective: Radiographic findings to identify central venous catheter misplacement in the arteries, which can cause lethal complications, have not been fully evaluated, and its training is difficult because it is rare. The purpose of this study is to clarify radiographic findings for differentiating central venous and misplaced arterial lines using virtual chest radiographs and elucidate their usefulness in training radiologists.

Methods: This retrospective study included 150 patients (mean age, 67 [SD, ±12] years; 97 men) who underwent colon cancer surgery between January 2018 and December 2020.

Background: Recent research has focused on the prognostic relevance of preoperative sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity in various cancers. In this study we investigated the relationship between visceral fat area (VFA), psoas muscle area (PMA), and the prognosis of patients undergoing colorectal cancer surgery.

Methods: Patients with stage III colorectal cancer who underwent surgery between July 2013 and April 2020 were included.
