Unveiling the transparency and flexibility in perovskite-based photodetectors with superior photoresponse and environmental stability remains an open challenge. Here we report on guanidinium incorporated metal halide perovskite (MAGuaPbI, x = 0 to 0.65) random percolative microstructure (RPM) fabrication using an ultra-fast spray coating technique. Remarkably, RPMs over a large area of 5 × 5 cm on flexible substrates with a transparency of ∼50% can be achieved with enriched environmental stability. Transparent photodetectors based on MAGuaPbI (x = 0.12) RPMs manifest excellent performance with a responsivity of 187 A W, a detectivity of 2.23 × 10 Jones and an external quantum efficiency of 44 115%. Additionally, the photodetectors exhibited superior mechanical flexibility under a wide range of bending angles and large number of binding cycles. Integrating features including transparency, high performance, stability, flexibility and scalability within a photodetector is unmatched and holds potential for novel applications in transparent and wearable optoelectronic devices.

Quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) mixed-halide perovskites are a requisite for their applications in highly efficient blue perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) owing to their strong quantum confinement effect and high exciton binding energy. The pace of quasi-2D blue PeLEDs is hindered primarily by two factors: challenges in precisely managing the phase distribution and defect-mediated nonradiative recombination losses. Herein, we utilize 2,2-diphenylethylamine (DPEA) with bulky steric hindrance to disturb the assembly process of a slender spacer host cation, 4-fluorophenylethylammonium (-F-PEA), enhancing phase distribution management in quasi-2D PeLEDs.

We present a novel, highly customizable glutathione-responsive nanogel (NG) platform for efficient mRNA delivery with precise mRNA payload release control. Optimization of various cationic monomers, including newly synthesized cationic polyarginine, polyhistidine, and acrylated guanidine monomers, allowed fine-tuning of NG properties for mRNA binding. By incorporating a poly(ethylene) glycol-based disulphide crosslinker, we achieved glutathione-triggered mRNA release, enabling targeted intracellular delivery.

Dipole molecules (DMs) show great potential in defect passivation for printable mesoscopic perovskite solar cells (p-MPSCs), although the crystallization process of p-MPSCs is more intricate and challenging than planar perovskite solar cells. In this work, a series of non-volatile multifunctional DMs are employed as additives to enhance the crystallization of perovskites and improve both the power conversion efficiency (PCE) and stability of the devices. This enhancement is achieved by regulating the side groups of benzoic acid molecules with the electron-donating groups such as guanidine (─NH─C(═NH)─NH), amino (─NH) and formamidine (─C(═NH)─NH).

In this study, we developed new chiral hybrid perovskites, (R/S-MBA)(GA)PbI, by incorporating achiral guanidinium (GA) and chiral R/S-methylbenzylammonium (R/S-MBA) into the perovskite framework. The resulting materials possess a distinctive structural configuration, positioned between 1D and 2D perovskites, which we describe as 1.5D.

In this study, we report the design of a new guanylated, cholic-acid-based monomer (GM) to combat antimicrobial resistance. The microbial activity stems from the interfacial amphiphilicity of cholic acid, while guanidine shows a strong association with phosphate, which promotes binding to membrane phospholipids. The monomer showed strong antimicrobial activity; however, surprisingly, homopolymers synthesized by photoiniferter reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization of GM completely lost their activity likely due to the conformation of the polymer.
