In this work, the performance of Ca(BO)F (CBF) single crystals was investigated for the third harmonic generation at 355 nm. A high energy conversion efficiency of 16.9% at 355 nm was reached using a two-conversion-stage setup. First, using a high peak power, passively Q-switched Nd:YAG/Cr:YAG microlaser based gain aperture in micro-MOPA, the second harmonic at 532 nm was achieved with lithium triborate (LBO) crystal, reaching 1.35 MW peak power. On a second step, laser pulses at 355 nm were generated using a 5 mm-long CBF crystal growth by TSSG method with energy, pulse duration and peak power of 479 µJ, 568 ps and 0.843 MW, respectively. These results are currently the highest reported for CBF material.

Purpose: The present study investigated the effect of unpleasant salty or bitter tastes on cycling sprint performance and knee-extensor force characteristics in different fatigue states.
Methods: Following a familiarization session, 11 trained male cyclists completed 3 experimental trials (salty, bitter, and water) in a randomized crossover order. In each trial, participants cycled at 85% of the respiratory compensation point for 45 minutes and then, after a 5-minute rest, completed a 1-minute sprint.

Hydrogen-based electric vehicles such as Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCHEVs) play an important role in producing zero carbon emissions and in reducing the pressure from the fuel economy crisis, simultaneously. This paper aims to address the energy management design for various performance metrics, such as power tracking and system accuracy, fuel cell lifetime, battery lifetime, and reduction of transient and peak current on Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) and Li-ion batteries. The proposed algorithm includes a combination of reinforcement learning algorithms in low-level control loops and high-level supervisory control based on fuzzy logic load sharing, which is implemented in the system under consideration.
