Pharmacological, computational, and mechanistic insights into triptolide's role in targeting drug-resistant cancers.

As a promising candidate for tackling drug-resistant cancers, triptolide, a diterpenoid derived from the Chinese medicinal plant Tripterygium wilfordii, has been developed. This review summarizes potential antitumor activities, including the suppression of RNA polymerase II, the suppression of heat shock proteins (HSP70 and HSP90), and the blockade of NF-kB signalling. Triptolide is the first known compound to target cancer cells specifically but spare normal cells, and it has success in treating cancers that are difficult to treat, including pancreatic, breast, and lung cancers.

Herein, a WO@TCN photocatalyst was successfully synthesized using a self-assembly method, which demonstrated effectiveness in degrading organic dyestuffs and photocatalytic evolution of H. The synergistic effect between WO and TCN, along with the porous structure of TCN, facilitated the formation of a heterojunction that promoted the absorption of visible light, accelerated the interfacial charge transfer, and inhibited the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. This led to excellent photocatalytic performance of 3%WO@TCN in degrading TC and catalyzing H evolution from water splitting under visible-light irradiation.

In organic synthesis, the solvent is the chemical compound that represents the largest proportion of the process. However, conventional solvents are often toxic and dangerous for the environment, and an interesting alternative is to replace them by water. In this context, catalyst surfactants allow both organic reagents in water to be solubilized and organic reactions to be catalyzed.

Background: Sensory disturbances and acquired paresthesia constitute a significant proportion of complications following orthognathic surgery. This systematic review examines the application of photobiomodulation (PBM) in managing these complications and its efficacy in promoting sensory recovery.

Methods: In November 2024, a comprehensive digital search was performed across reputable databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus, using carefully selected search terms: "orthognathic surgery" AND (physiotherapy OR physical therapy OR laser OR LLLT OR PBM OR light OR LED OR acupuncture) AND (nerve OR neurosensory OR paresthesia).

A series of in vitro studies were conducted to explore the anti-methanogenic potential of five seaweeds collected from the Indian sea and to optimize the level(s) of incorporation of the most promising seaweed(s) into a straw and concentrate diet to achieve a significant reduction in methane (CH) production without disturbing rumen fermentation characteristics. A chemical composition analysis revealed a notable ash content varying between 55 and 70% in seaweeds. The crude protein content was highly variable and ranged between 3.
