Background: As healthcare systems evolve, individuals are expected to be more involved in managing their health and rehabilitation. A wireless medical accelerometer (SENS motion®) has been developed to collect objective data on physical activity. The number of patients requiring knee replacement is rising, but the motivational effect of medical accelerometers in the rehabilitation after knee replacement remains unexplored.

Currently, the treatment of bone defects in arthroplasty is a challenge in clinical practice. Nonetheless, commercially available orthopaedic scaffolds have shown limited therapeutic effects for large bone defects, especially for massiveand irregular defects. Additively manufactured porous tantalum, in particular, has emerged as a promising material for such scaffolds and is widely used in orthopaedics for its exceptional biocompatibility, osteoinduction, and mechanical properties.

Practice MEIN KNIE, Hirslanden Klinik Birshof, Münchenstein, Switzerland.
Purpose: Customised individually made (CIM) total knee arthroplasty (TKA) with personalised alignment is relatively new and evidence is limited. The aim of this study was to compare patient-reported outcome measures between CIM and off-the-shelf (OTS) TKA patients in a matched-pair analysis with a 2-year follow-up.
Methods: In this single-centre, prospective cohort study, propensity score matching was performed on 51 CIM and 51 OTS TKA.

Orthopaedic-Traumatology and Prosthetic surgery and revisions of hip and knee implants, IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli, Bologna, Italy.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate if patient's gender significantly affected the long-term outcome of patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and to provide a cross-gender comparison of a large patient sample from a single regional register.
Methods: The Registry of Prosthetic Orthopedic Implant of Emilia Romagna (RIPO) investigated all primary TKAs performed from July 2000 to December 2020 by collecting data of men and women separately. Primary bicompartmental and tricompartmental TKAs were included.
