Electrochemical monitoring of catalytically amplified collisions of individual metal nanoparticles (NP) with ultramicroelectrodes (UME) has been extensively used to study electrocatalysis, mass-transport, and charge-transfer processes at the single NP level. More recently, photoelectrochemical collision experiments were carried out with semiconductive NPs. Here, we introduce two new types of light-controlled nanoimpact experiments. The first experiment involves localized photodeposition of catalyst (Pt) on TiO NPs with a glass-sheathed carbon fiber simultaneously serving as the light guide and collector UME. The collisions of prepared Pt@TiO NPs with the carbon surface produced blips of water oxidation current, while the activity of pristine TiO NPs was too low to yield measurable signal. In another experiment, collisions of catalytic (Ir oxide) NPs with the semiconductor (Nb doped n-type TiO rutile single crystal) electrode are monitored by measuring the photocurrent of water oxidation.

Blind spot collisions are a critical and often overlooked threat to pedestrian safety, frequently resulting in severe injuries. This study investigates the impact of automated vehicles equipped with external human-machine interfaces (eHMIs) on pedestrian crossing behavior and safety, focusing on scenarios where AVs create mutual blind spots between pedestrians and adjacent traffic. We report full quantum-computed average microcanonical, initial state-specific, and canonical cumulative time-delays associated with the O + O scattering, presented as a function of total energy (in relation to an idealized molecular beam experiment) or temperature (for the properties of the gas phase in bulk conditions). We show that these quantities are well-defined and computable, with a temperature-dependent (canonical) time-delay presenting a smooth, monotonic decreasing behavior with temperature, despite an energy-dependent (microcanonical) time-delay of apparent chaotic character. We discuss differences in behavior when considering isotopic variations, O + OO and O + OO, with respect to the reference process O + OO and reveal a greater magnitude of the cumulative time-delay when genuinely reactive events can take place, in the presence of O.

Amyloid fibrils are highly stable misfolded protein assemblies that play an important role in several neurodegenerative and systemic diseases. Although structural information of the amyloid state is now abundant, mechanistic details about the misfolding process remain elusive. Inspired by the Φ-value analysis of protein folding, we combined experiments and molecular simulations to resolve amino-acid contacts and determine the structure of the transition-state ensemble-the rate-limiting step-for fibril elongation of PI3K-SH3 amyloid fibrils.

To improve the efficiency of mobile robot movement, this paper investigates the fusion of the A* algorithm with the Dynamic Window Approach (DWA) algorithm (IA-DWA) to quickly search for globally optimal collision-free paths and avoid unknown obstacles in time. First, the data from the odometer and the inertial measurement unit (IMU) are fused using the extended Kalman filter (EKF) to reduce the error caused by wheel slippage on the mobile robot's positioning and improve the mobile robot's positioning accuracy. Second, the prediction function, weight coefficients, search neighborhood, and path smoothing processing of the A* algorithm are optimally designed to incorporate the critical point information in the global path into the DWA calculation framework.
