This study presents the gross and histopathological findings of adenoviral hemorrhagic disease (AHD) in two yearling and one adult mule deer (). These cases represent the first known outbreak of deer adenovirus ( adenovirus 1) in Arizona. Over the span of a month, three female captive mule deer were submitted to Midwestern University's Animal Health Institute for postmortem examination. All of these deer were from the same deer farm and historical findings were similar, consisting of acute presentation of hemorrhagic diarrhea and sudden death. Grossly and histopathologically, all cases had severe pulmonary edema and hemorrhagic enteritis. Additionally, two of the three cases had low numbers of large amphophilic intranuclear inclusions expanding endothelial cells within the small intestine and lungs. Viral PCR of pooled small intestine, lung, and spleen from each of the three cases were positive for deer adenovirus and negative for blue tongue and epizootic hemorrhagic disease.

Rationale: The Chemical Optimization of Cerebral Embolectomy (CHOICE) trial suggested that the administration of intra-arterial alteplase after successful endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) may improve neurological outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion (AIS-LVO) in the anterior circulation. However, the use of adjunctive intra-arterial alteplase following successful EVT in acute posterior circulation stroke remains unexplored.
Aims: This study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of intra-arterial alteplase after successful EVT for AIS-LVO in the posterior circulation.

Grass carp is an important commercial fish in China that is plagued by various diseases, especially the hemorrhagic disease induced by grass carp reovirus (GCRV). Autophagy, a highly conserved biological process among eukaryotes, is pivotal in maintaining cellular homeostasis and managing various stressors, including viral infections. Uncoordinated (Unc) 51-like kinase 2 (ULK2) is considered an initiator of the autophagic process.

Objective: Brainstem cavernous malformations (BSCMs) were once considered inoperable. Microsurgical resection now represents a valuable option for treating patients with hemorrhagic or symptomatic lesions. The aim of this study was to provide a practical guide for surgical planning by analyzing postoperative neurological and functional outcomes.

This companion study assesses the effect of these regimens on patient-reported outcomes (PROs). Using the Lee Chronic GVHD Symptom Score and PROMIS subscales (physical function, GI symptoms, social role satisfaction) as primary end points and hemorrhagic cystitis symptoms and Lee subscales as secondary end points, responses from English and Spanish speakers were analyzed at baseline and days 100, 180, and 365 after transplant.

Anti-amyloid immunotherapy holds great promise for our patients and their families as the first disease-modifying therapy for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD) to be approved. Positive clinical trials for lecanamab and donanemab showed significant and rapid lowering of brain amyloid burden and a significant slowing of cognitive decline. Amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) in the form of vasogenic edema (ARIA-E) and micro - and macro- hemorrhages (ARIA-H) remain the major obstacle to broad use of these agents.
