The long-armed scarab () is an endangered large insect in southwestern China and neighboring countries; however, limited information is available regarding its population genetics, hindering conservation efforts. Therefore, we investigated the population genetic structure and evolutionary history of in southwestern China. Twenty-five haplotypes were obtained from 47 specimens across five populations. The Dawei Mountain (DWS) population differed from other populations by a high genetic distance. Population structure analysis generated three distinct clades, corresponding to Hengduan Mountains (HM), Ailao Mountains (AM), and Dawei Mountains (DM), and high-level genetic diversity was found in two HM populations. Collectively, the strong genetic differentiation among populations might be due to limited gene flow, geographical isolation, and habitat fragmentation. Therefore, while developing a conservation strategy, HM, AM, and DM groups should be defined as separate management units. Additionally, the DWS population should be given priority protection due to its uniqueness and low genetic diversity.

Experiencing a traumatic event may lead to Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), including symptoms such as flashbacks and hyperarousal. Individuals suffering from PTSD are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), but it is unclear why. This study assesses shared genetic liability and potential causal pathways between PTSD and CVD.

CD226 plays a vital role in natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity, interacting with its ligands CD112 and CD155 to initiate immune synapse formation, primarily through leukocyte function-associated-1 (LFA-1). Our study examined the role of CD226 in NK cell surveillance of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). NK cells in patients with AML had lower expression of CD226.

Background: DNA methylation (DNAm) data from human samples has been leveraged to develop "epigenetic clock" algorithms that predict age and other aging-related phenotypes. Some DNAm clocks were trained using DNAm obtained from blood cells, while other clocks were trained using data from diverse tissue/cell types. To assess how DNAm clocks perform across non-blood tissue types, we applied DNAm algorithms to DNAm data generated from 9 different human tissue types.

Background: Immunotherapy is beneficial for some colorectal cancer (CRC) patients, but immunosuppressive networks limit its effectiveness. Cancer-associatedfibroblasts (CAFs) are significant in immune escape and resistance toimmunotherapy, emphasizing the urgent need for new treatment strategies.
Methods: Flow cytometric, Western blotting, proteomics analysis, analysis of public database data, genetically modified cell line models, T cell coculture, crystal violetstaining, ELISA, metabonomic and clinical tumour samples were conducted to assess the role of EDEM3 in immune escape and itsmolecular mechanisms.

Aberrant immune responses to viral pathogens contribute to pathogenesis, but our understanding of pathological immune responses caused by viruses within the human virome, especially at a population scale, remains limited. We analyzed whole-genome sequencing datasets of 6,321 Japanese individuals, including patients with autoimmune diseases (psoriasis vulgaris, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) or multiple sclerosis) and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), or healthy controls. We systematically quantified two constituents of the blood DNA virome, endogenous HHV-6 (eHHV-6) and anellovirus.
