Purpose: To identify and clarify the comprehensive anatomic patterns in the left lower lobe (LLL).

Methods: Using computed tomography (CT) imaging data, including that obtained using three-dimensional CT, we reviewed the anatomic patterns of the pulmonary vessels and bronchi in the left lungs of 539 patients, focusing on the LLL.

Results: The two-stem type in A was observed in 131 (24.7%) patients and the three-stem type in A was observed in 11 (2.1%) patients. The independent two-stem type in B was observed in four (0.75%) patients. The B with independent branching from the basal bronchi was observed in 42 (7.9%) patients. B* was observed in 129 (24.0%) patients and B* was accompanied by A* in all patients. An extrapericardial common trunk of the left pulmonary veins was identified in five patients (0.93%).

Conclusion: We identified various bronchovascular patterns in the LLL of a large number of patients. Our results provide useful information for anatomic pulmonary resection, especially segmentectomy.

(-)-Cryptanoside A () was identified previously as a major cytotoxic component of the stems of collected in Laos, which mediates its activity by targeting Na/K-ATPase (NKA), with hydrogen bonds formed between its 11- and 4'-hydroxy groups and NKA being observed in its docking profile. In a continuing investigation, and its 17-epimer, (-)-17--cryptanoside A (), and the new (+)-2-hydroxyandrosta-4,6-diene-3-one-17-carboxylic acid () and the known (+)-2,21-dihydroxypregna-4,6-diene-3,20-dione or 2-hydroxy-6,7-didehydrocortexone () pregnane-type steroids were isolated from . In addition, (-)-11,4'-di--acetylcryptanoside A () has been synthesized from the acetylation of .

January 2025

Division of Oral Surgery and Orthodontics, Department of Dental Medicine and Oral Health, Medical University of Graz, Graz, Austria.

Purpose: Zirconia dental implants show excellent biocompatibility and tissue integration, low affinity for plaque, and favorable biomechanical properties. However, these objective measures do not adequately replicate the patient's perception. This systematic review evaluated the evidence on patient-reported outcome (PROs) in zirconia dental implant treatment.

Background: Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a common cosmetic concern, often leading to significant psychological distress for the patients. With the widespread application of lasers including ablative fractional resurfacing (AFR) with a 10,600 nm CO laser, PIH caused by lasers is becoming increasingly common. But due to the absence of an appropriate animal research model, our understanding of pathophysiological mechanisms and preventive strategies for PIH remains limited.
