A straightforward methodology for the synthesis of anti-Markovnikov-type alcohols is presented. By using a specific cobalt triphos complex in the presence of Zn(OTf) as an additive, the hydrogenation of epoxides proceeds with high yields and selectivities. The described protocol shows a broad substrate scope, including multi-substituted internal and terminal epoxides, as well as a good functional-group tolerance. Various natural-product derivatives, including steroids, terpenoids, and sesquiterpenoids, gave access to the corresponding alcohols in moderate-to-excellent yields.

Herein, a high selective epoxidation of isobutene was achieved by heterogeneously dispersed MoSe with tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP), which further showed versatile substrate scopes and well-retained activity among recycling tests. A rational mechanism is proposed based on extensive control experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, surprisingly unveiling the metal-oxo and radical mediated pathways dramatically accelerated by hydrogen bonds of hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP).

To develop new green sustainable adsorbents, herein, psyllium, a polysaccharide, was transformed into a cationic material by introducing a quaternary ammonium group in its structure through a two-step process. Psyllium was epoxidized with epichlorohydrin to epoxy propyl form (Psy) and the resulting material was reacted with triethylamine to obtain a quaternized psyllium, Psy. Psy demonstrates selective elimination of anionic dyes (CR and MO).

Bimetallic (Ta/Ti, V, Co, Nb) mesoporous MCM-41 nanoparticles were obtained by direct synthesis and hydrothermal treatment. The obtained mesoporous materials were characterized by XRD, XRF, N adsorption/desorption, SEM, TEM, XPS, Raman, UV-Vis, and PL spectroscopy. A more significant effect was observed on the mesoporous structure, typically for MCM-41, and on optic properties if the second metal (Ti, Co) did not belong to the same Vb group with Ta as V and Nb.

Among the various studies on CO utilization, the sustainable and cost-effective fixation of CO into cyclic carbonates remains one of the most intriguing subjects. To this end, a novel type of composite dicationic ionic liquid material, DIL@PDIL, was developed. This composite consists of a dicationic ionic liquid (DIL), DMAP[TMGH]Br, supported on a polymeric dicationic ionic liquid (PDIL), P-DVB/Im[TMGH]Br.

Direct epoxidation of propylene (CH) with hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O) over the Au/TS-1 catalyst is known as the "Holy Grail" reaction for propylene oxide (PO) synthesis. However, Au nanoparticle loading on TS-1 was limited by traditional deposition precipitation, impregnation and could not achieve ideal catalytic results. In this report, alkaline-assisted excessive impregnation helped to remove Cl from the Au impregnation precursor, improve the loading efficiency of Au nanoparticles and overcome the abnormal growth of nanograins.
