Background: Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is an extremely rare type of vasculitis characterized by inflammation within small blood vessels or tissues that may cause damage to the lungs, heart, kidneys, and other organs. Here, we present a rare case of EGPA with cardiac involvement that presented with acute heart failure.

Clinical Findings: A 44-year-old woman with a history of bronchial asthma and sinusitis presented with fever, shortness of breath, fatigue, unintentional weight loss, and polyarthritis.

The unintentional dissemination of uranium into environment poses substantial risks to both food sources and human populations. An advanced method for convenient and accurate detection of uranium in food is thus a pressing need. Herein, a novel magnetic amidoxime functionalized covalent organic framework (TpDb-AO@FeO), prepared with 2,5-dinitrobenzonitrile, 1,3,5-triformylphloroglucinol and hydroxylamine hydrochloride, was synthesized as adsorbent for magnetic-solid phase extraction (MSPE) of UO.

Article Synopsis
  • * It involved searching for various medical imaging PowerPoint files online, assessing them for the presence of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • * Results showed that while there's a decline in the percentage of PowerPoint files containing PHI over the last 15 years, significant concerns still remain, especially with specific imaging types like chest X-rays and post-operative CT scans.

Mind wandering (MW) is the intentional or unintentional experience of attending to internal task-unrelated thoughts while being occupied with an external task. Even though maintaining task focus is assumed to require executive functions (EF), it is not clear how and to what extent MW and EF interact. Research has found that activity in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) is associated with EF and MW.

Two-dimensional materials are extraordinarily sensitive to external stimuli, making them ideal for studying fundamental properties and for engineering devices with new functionalities. One such stimulus, strain, affects the magnetic properties of the layered magnetic semiconductor CrSBr to such a degree that it can induce a reversible antiferromagnetic-to-ferromagnetic phase transition. Using scanning SQUID-on-lever microscopy, we directly image the effects of spatially inhomogeneous strain on the magnetization of layered CrSBr, as it is polarized by a field applied along its easy axis.
