Introduction: Alterations in occlusal relationships in individuals with complete edentulism considerably disrupt the equilibrium of the stomatognathic system. Evaluation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is crucial during the edentulous phase, as it influences both aesthetic and functional outcomes. This investigation sought to assess alterations in condylar positioning one year after the placement of complete dentures in edentulous patients, with additional objectives to examine variations based on sex and side.

Symmetry is integral for the balance and function of the craniofacial complex and making precise diagnosis of asymmetric craniofacial structures is crucial for treatment planning. This study focuses on maxillomandibular asymmetry, examining its impact on condylar resorption and trabecular bone morphology changes following orthognathic surgery. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans of patients with and without asymmetry were analyzed pre- and post-surgery.

Background: The lateral pterygoid muscle (LPM) is crucial for masticatory function but exhibits significant anatomical variability that challenges traditional anatomical views. Advanced imaging techniques have revealed these variations, necessitating a reevaluation of the LPM's structure.
Purpose: To categorize variations in the number of LPM heads and their relationship with the maxillary artery, aiming to improve the understanding of orofacial anatomy and move beyond simplified anatomical models.

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) assisted bronchoscopy shows prospective advantages in diagnosing peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs), but its diagnostic value and potential influencing factors remain unclear. What is the clinical value and optimal strategy of CBCT-assisted bronchoscopy in diagnosing PPLs? The references were searched from PubMed, EmBase, and Web of Science. Studies reporting diagnostic yield and potential influencing factors of CBCT-assisted bronchoscopy were included.

Understanding the impact of premolar root anatomy, sex, and age on incisor complexity can aid in developing tailored diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. This study evaluated if the anatomical complexity of mandibular premolars, sex and age can predict the anatomical complexity in mandibular incisors. Using CBCT scans, 3944 mandibular incisors from 493 patients were analyzed.
